Strange love, indeed.
I really like this concept. The focus on that narrow strip of sand with the shell and seaweed draws the eye quite efficiently. The off-center framing is a nice addition, as well. However, I would suggest playing with different frames for a shot such as this. Perhaps try to use the lines of the waves to lead the viewer's eye in as well (using a landscape orientation).
The small tufts of grass on the very edges of the picture are slightly distracting in that their extreme positioning draws the viewer away from the subject. I do not know if the layout of the beach was such that a landscape shot would include more distractions, but I think it would add to your composition. Even cropping in closer to the two, and really showing the detail, would help improve it as well.
It looks like you may have placed your camera on the ground? Either way, the angle is effective for placing the viewer on the scene, and adds to the overall atmosphere of the piece. Try to avoid too much white burnout on the waves (perhaps by using a filter or going during different lighting, or metering on a brighter part of the image).
Overall, nice piece, and I hope some of these ideas are helpful to you. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sā¦ " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)" />
