I love Rhinos, but when ever i google photos i just get sad.
They are these huge amazing creatures and we are killing them off. this started as a hay i want to paint a rhino, then i was joking with my parents saying they are unicorns and then i made this connection. There was this movie i loved to watch when i was little called "the last unicorn" and i really just watched it for the drunk skeleton.. but in it there was one last unicorn because some king had trapped them all out of this greed that he wanted to control the beauty of the world. Well, we humans hunt rhinos for their horns, carve them into figurines so they can sit on the wall or be used as "medicine" like what are you going to do with it? eat it? we are that greedy king who trapped all the rhinos. There are two northern white rhinos left, the last male died and its only two sisters. there will be no magical journey to save the other whites from an angry red bull and king. but im hopeful their cousins the Southern white Rhinos can push through. I got to meet the three housed at Henry Doorly Zoo and they are amazing. I have fallen in love with them, they are so sweet and don't deserve what the get out in the wild. i no longer want to think of the last unicorn when i see a white rhino, or any rhino at that.
