Description edit: Hm... realized I never put up the edited version that I had as a print at Fanime. But yea.

==========================================

FINALLY was able to finish this after much pain in trying to get tablet to cooperate.

Drew this to celebrate Allen's birthday as well as Christmas. HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLEN AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!! LOL what a gloomy pic for Christmas... >___>;;;

Tools of the trade included pencil, sharpie, cool brush pen from Taiwan, and heavy heavy heavy heavy heavy editing in Photoshop.

P.S. I got reaaaaaaaally lazy with the cross and omitted the details in the middle. SORRY, IT'S LATE AND MOM IS NAGGING FOR ME TO GO TO BED. T___T

I bought this at Fanime 2014.
I put it in my frame that I previously had my college certificate in. Allen > Certificate.

o.o couldn't you move the paper...or use the page tilt tool if you were drawing digitally?

Didn't know how/ didn't want to bother/ was pressed for time. >____> Btw, do you know how to tilt the paper on PS4?? It will help LOADS in the future.

I looked through some photoshop tutorials here on dA and not one of them mentioned anything to do with titling the page lol
but I think you can do it if you go into 'edit' or one of the menus at the top and it should say something like 'translate' or something and you should be able to get an option that says rotate page. That's something like tilting the page at least. I don't use photoshop so it might not work, but you must be able to

Hm... >___>;; I'll just try to get my lazy arse moving sometime and fix it later. *gets shot*

Thanks so much though!!! I might be switching to SAI sometime soon so maybe that'll fix things? Oh well, the good 'ol twisting the head works fine, as long as I take breaks. XD;

I think Sai has a really easy method of tilting the page, (although again, 'cause I've never used it I can't be sure)

I think my neck would be screaming in protest if I did that XD

LOL It'll be a good way to build up those neck muscles. XD;;;

somehow I don't think my neck would be too pleased though no, I'm lazy and turn the page on the computer XD

LOL Just wondering, what program do you use?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Olivia-94 In reply to bluebirdjoy [2010-01-04 21:31:10 +0000 UTC]

I use free programs off the internet ^^ mostly The GNU Image Manipulating Program (The G.I.M.P), Open Canvas 1.1 (the last free version to be released) and art weaver. I figure that between them they make up an almost complete photoshop-like program lol

OMG I love Open Canvas! >w< Gimp was ok.... I still feel more comfortable with photoshop though... XD; Never heard of art weaver... :/

I know. But my version keeps on doing funny things like merging the layers together even when it shows them on seperate layers D:
I found photoshop too un-user friendly; we have it at school and I want to do something simple like colour something in and I can't find the colour wheel thing, or the navigation box or anything - I find it difficult to use D:
I'd never heard of art weaver before, but somebody mentioned it on a really incredible piece of art so I though I might as well look it up. It's mainly for colouring, although I can't say I've been that impressed with it so far XD

Whaaat. Try reinstalling?

Ahhh... I learned the basics in journalism and it was the first program I've ever used for art. XD;

o 3o I might check it out then.

Olivia-94 In reply to bluebirdjoy [2010-01-06 08:07:57 +0000 UTC]

hmm, well my computer was wiped so I get a whole new chance to upload all the programs again. I'm just a bit wary about downloading anything because of viruses and the like D:
i suppose if its the first program you've used it'll be better because you can learn it from the start. I just find it...difficult.

bluebirdjoy In reply to Olivia-94 [2010-01-07 18:59:12 +0000 UTC]

A lot of learning was through trial and error as well I guess. XD;

Yea, I'm really afraid of getting viruses. MY PRECIOUS PRECIOUS LAPTOP. D:

Trail and error. Even in art you can't get rid of maths

Viruses are the only thing that make me stressed.
Upcomin GCSE exams? No problem. Virus on my computer? Give me an antistress treatment!!! but as long as I know somethings being done about it (ie. a virus) I'm fine ^^
