Video frames of a lightning strike slowed down a bit so we can see its paths better.

Tools used:
Nikon COOLPIX L24
VirtualDub for exporting frames.
ImageReady CS2 for animation.

For this, I used ImageReady CS2 (it came with my Photoshop CS2 package) because I wanted to retain full color. Adobe has since updated ImageReady and they also have another animation program called Fireworks. If you don't want to pay a lot of money for animation tools, there's freeware like GIMP [link] , which has the ability to make animated GIF images [link] .
