Description Some fanart for the first Anne McCaffery novel I ever read: Dragonsong. Hell, I think it was the first *novel* I ever read.

Can I juust add the remark of THANK YOU! It's just, with most of the fanart I've seen of Menolly and Beauty, they are two completely different colors, when Beauty was close enough to her hair color to be able to blend in with Menolly's hair. I know others might not have caught onto that and artistic license and all, but thank you. This looks very nice.

Yeah, makes me want to read the other books in the harper's hall trilogy again, too bad my library doesn't have them....

Damn, surprisingly my high school had a lot of McCaffrey's books.
I've read a lot of her Pern books.
They're awesome.

Her other work is fantastic too. I'm partial to her Brain and Brawn series, and her Acornia series. Both the series are top notch science fiction.

Hehe I never read those ones, but I do love her imagery.
Lol I am reading "Dolphins of Pern" right now, as well as Jane Yolen's, "Heart's Blood"
Her Pit dragon series is good!!

That's exactly how I got introduced to Pern. My first book was Dragonsong. I remember saying what is Pern? I skipped the intro entirely and some parts confused me a lot. I remember imagining the Hatching having lawn chairs and saying whose Brekke? When I went and read Dragonflight I finally understood what Dragonsong was trying to do.

Same!! It wasn't till years later I read Dragonflight and was all 'OHHHHH, that's that they were talking about...'

Now I've read pretty much every book except for Renegades, Masterharper, Skies (which I plan to get), and Dragonlovers Guide(which I want so bad), and the out of print Atlas

You've got me beat, I think I've only read about half of the Pern books, I'm blaming it on my rural countryside living.....small-town libraries have small town selections....;_;
Have you read any of her sci-fi novels?

Aside from the Pern novels no. Do you know any other good ones?

The Acorna Series is good, its about an alien girl with a horn growing out of her head. Also it has unicorns in it, lol. And 'The Ship That Sang' is a pretty good read as well as any others from that series. Deals with ships with actual people built into them as computers.
