Description Maria Dalambanga - I think is an aspect of the Filipino mountain Goddess, Maria Makiling, who presides over her sacred mountain, Mount Makiling. I think her name means something like, Maria Who Leans, but maybe also because many try to woo her, Maria Who Favors (the root word of Makiling being kiling - to lean towards, but is also used to denote favoring something). Dalambanga literally means carrying an earthenware water jar. Dalambanga supposedly relates to the legend of how the town of Calamba, Laguna was made. This is another decade-old drawing which I recently colored. I tried an older coloring method here, which is much more time-consuming, but has its merits in achieving a more painterly style.

Thank you! This was actually I think just a random anito drawing, but then I read about Maria Dalambanga and I thought the drawing suited her.
