Unfortunately there aren't any voice actors. It's all text, but Marine is very cute. She's a really cool character and makes a lot of funny jokes (particularly when she pokes Sonic's unconscious body to see if he's dead). hahaha
But the gameplay is a lot of fun and I think I'll enjoy it for awhile. The only downsides are that you can only play as Sonic and Blaze. But there's lots of other stuff to do than just play the levels. I wish you could play as Tails and Marine, but oh well.
Has Marine been in any other games or anything? I was just wondering because some of the pics people have posted of Marine on DeviantArt are from almost a year ago and I don't know if Sonic Rush Adventure was announced then or not? Maybe she was in the comics or something. I've never read those.
Anyway, have a good week!

Yeah, other than when they get hit or lose rings (they say "Oww!" or "Oh no!) but other than that there's no voice acting that I know of. I haven't gotten all the Chaos and Sol emeralds though so maybe there's some hope.
Yeah, the Australian is really funny. It reminds me of this game for Gamecube my sister had called Ty the Tasmanian Tiger. But Marine basically says stuff is ripper! Or Bonzer! But yeah, it's definitely a good break from the entirely English speaking stuff.

I think you'll enjoy it. It's a lot like the first Sonic Rush, but it's different in its own ways too. The boat races for the chaos emeralds are kinda neat (but really tough to win; I can't for the life of me get the 7th one);
But the levels are really fast and fun and you can do lots of flips and tricks to rack up points. It's bonzer! It's ripper! Those are the only two I think I remember Marine saying.
Yeah, they only had one copy at Wal-Mart when I got it last Friday night. I thought it was released last Tuesday so I dunno what's going on. I hope it's REALLY popular, but ya never know.
Anyway, I hope you find soon! Good luck!

I got Sonic and the Secret Rings in the spring. It was a lot of fun (especially shaking the remote to do a jump attack), but it wasn't Great (like a 9 out of 10 IMO). It was just missing...something. I can't even really explain what. I mean, you could only play as Sonic, which I really didn't mind, but it was incredibly creative and unique which helped a lot.
I'm really hoping the Sonic RPG that's coming out for the DS next year is going to put Sonic back near the top. I think it would be kind of cool if Tails had a sword and Sonic had some kind of weapon and Amy's already got her hammer.
A bunch of people say Sonic has to be about speed 100% of the time, and to an extent, I think that's true, but I think Sonic is going to have to do something unique and break the mold if the Sonic Series is going to climb up the charts again. They haven't released any screenshots or anything from the Sonic RPG yet, but supposedly it's due out by Summer of 08, so I hope it is fun and has a good story.
Maybe Sonic and Mario at the Olympics will help too. That and they need a Sonic Dance Dance Revolution game! haha
Talk to ya later and have a good weekend!

Sorry, but i couldn't reply to the other comments, so here you go:
Oh, so Sonic and the Secret Rings that great? i found it looked ok, but its just a different concept. i didnt really enjoy that it was only Sonic, even though he's my fav character. It was very creative with the "Aladdin" style, and having Tails as Ali Baba, and Knuckles as Simbad What i really liked most, and was hoping to play, was the whole idea of the multiplayer "Mario Party" type thing.
Btw, what's Sonic RPG? i've never heard of it yet. You don't have any pictures of it right? I know about Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, and about the new Sonic Rivals 2 (which i cant buy) but not this new Sonic RPG.
And if there was ever a Sonic DDR, ohhhhhh man i'd buy it in 5 seconds flat i love playing DDR i know theres a Mario one. Do they have actual Mario songs?
And i finally got Sonic Rush Adventure also, i've already beat story mode, except for the last story, where you need all the Chaos/Sol Emeralds. So far, i have 6 of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, and 5 Sol Emeralds it's a pretty good game, i must admit i know it got about an 8 on 10, so thats a good sign for a Sonic Team game. lets hope they keep it that way how far are you in Sonic Rush Adventure?
Also, sry i havent responded recently or anything. My computer wasnt working. Hope you had a nice weekend!

Wow, we're practically mirror images of each other. I've got 6 of 7 chaos and 5 of 7 Sol emeralds too. It's weird because I thought once you got a chaos emerald, you could fight another boss with Blaze to get a Sol emerald on the mission list, but I guess not.
I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to get that last chaos emerald. Johnny is jerk! haha He practically sprints the entire 2nd half of the course and I can't keep up with him and avoid the bombs and stuff he shoots at you. I wish there was a way to attack him back, but oh well.
Yeah, I totally agree with you about Sonic and the Secret Rings. It was good, it just seemed kind of incomplete. There have been very few games lately where Tails is a playable character which stinks. I personally think Sonic Team has just been trying to turn out/work on so many projects lately that they might not be able to go as far in depth with each one as they otherwise might have liked.
The Mario DDR is mostly songs from Mario games. There's a few others that I'm not familiar with, but it's mostly like the mario theme (technoized), the underground pipe level song, a song from mario kart, etc. It's pretty cool and it's always fun to play against other people and it's a good aerobic workout too (haha; it's weird cuz it keeps track of how many calories you burn too).
Yeah, there aren't any pictures of the Sonic RPG yet as far as I know. Search for Sonic RPG on IGN to read about it, but there's not much to know so far other than that it is for the DS.
And thanks for the compliments about the pictures. It was actually total luck that I got that really good shot of the two flying seagulls with the blue background. It wasn't even my camera I was using, but it's one of my fav. pics. That and the one of me lying under the deck reading. haha I sunburn way too easily.
Anyway, good luck winning that last emerald. Talk to ya later.

Haha no way! We're exactly the same! thats pretty cool Also, which Chaos Emerald are you missing? The last one? Because i got that one and i can give you a hint on how to beat it Took me forever to do it though, but i know how to now. I cant find where Johnny is hiding for the silver emerald though... Do you have that one?
Also, I can't figure out how to get anymore Sol Emeralds. There's no more missions given out for it.
But yeah, i know what u mean about the recent games. You hardly ever use any of the other characters, like Tails, Knuckles, Amy etc anymore. It's always Sonic (of course ) and Shadow...And now Silver. I only like how Sonic and the Secret Rings is for multiplayer, because you can use almost all the main characters. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 wasn't good, i find. You could only use the 3 main hedgehogs. Do u have that game? I only liked how you could do Team Racing.
Now i want to play Mario DDR Sounds like fun, but i'd rather Sonic DDR by far Now I'm going to look on IGN for the Sonic RPG you mentioned. I also know there's another game called Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity coming out. Heard of it?
And no problem for the picture comments I really adore that picture of the seagulls. It's super cute! I'd never be able to snap a shot like that.
Anyways, let me know when you find the last Chaos Emerald, whichever one it is Talk to you soon!

I don't have an Xbox 360 or a PS3, so I don't own Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, but I played it for a couple of hours at friends and it was AWFUL! Plus I hate Silver (for no good reason haha). But the gameplay was terrible and very glitchy and the story was terrible too imo. Plus the princess girl was ugggly! haha I never saw the scene where she kissed Sonic to bring him back to life or whatever, but I heard it caused a huge uproar. Why can't Sonic and Amy be together??? Why??!! haha
I am missing the purple emerald (I couldn't get it in Sonic Advance 3 either; so embarrassing I know! hahaha). It was really hard to find some of the emerald spots because there's so many little lights colored dots on the map. To find the silver emerald, on the map, scroll as far to the left and up as you can go. I use the submarine but I think any of the boats will work, leave from the little green island and go north and slightly northeast to a light blue spot and you'll find Johnny. If you have the map scrolled as far left and up as possible, Johnny is in the second row, fourth box(from the left). I hope that makes sense. It's not too tough to get, but there's lots of little rocks to dodge. Plus I hate how Johnny can shoot stuff at you and he gets a fast start.
You're amazing if you got that purple emerald! I saw the finish line once, but still lost by 3 or 4 seconds. It wasn't even close.
I enjoyed Sonic Riders a lot. Especially using Tails or Cream with the air skates instead of the board. But it was a lot of fun. I wish the items were better though (like in Mario Kart or something. haha) I hope Zero Gravity is a lot of fun as well!
Talk to you later and have a fun weekend!

Yeah, for the Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, i really liked the graphics, but you're right about the glitches. They're horrible! and when i saw Sonic and Elise kiss, i got soo mad I want Sonic and Amy together! I also don't like Silver He's just annoying.
Thanks for letting me know where the Silver Emerald is I'm going to go find it after. I'm going to be getting off the computer soon, but next time im on, i'll write back to you and tell you how to get the last emerald, on how to beat Johnny
I liked playing as Sonic, Shadow and Amy best in Sonic Riders, with the air skates. And I hope Zero Gravity is good as well
Anyways, I'd better be off, my best friend from Toronto is here for the weekend ^_^

I saw in your profile where you live in Quebec, right? I've always wanted to go on vacation to Canada, but New York is as close as I've gotten. haha I hear it's a really pretty place.
Yeah, I'm a pretty big Sonamy fan too. I just fear they're always going to leave it as: Amy chases Sonic away at the end and they happily run after each other forever and ever The End. That's why I'm hoping the Sonic RPG will be a little different, but I doubt it. That's what is so weird about the idea of that game to me: I can't imagine Sonic and Co. being involved in a press A for a jump attack, B for a special attack kind of RPG game, but either way, I hope it's unique and fun.
Is it cold up there already, or still kind of warm? It's been in the 90s here (which is weird even for this time of year). But I like hot or cold weather really. It hasn't snowed here in Mississippi in 7 yrs! haha so sad for us!
Hope you have fun and talk to you later.

Yup, i live it Quebec: The French Land It's pretty nice up here, gets kinda cold in the winter. Right now, it's not hot or cold. On some days it gets chilly or humid, but that's it for now.
My favorite couple is Sonamy, and I agree with you, about the Amy chasing Sonic thing I love how you described it too: Forever and Ever The End P I hope they change that soon, but I doubt it. I read somewhere that it's going to stick like that, but oh well. And is Sonic RPG kind of like, Final Fantasy style?
You guys measure your temperature in fereinheit right? (Can't spell) We measure in Celcius. I don have a thermomter thingy around here, so I really don't know what emperature it is now Just think, a little windy but it's a nice breeze. And it hasn't snowed on 7 years for you??? That's insane. Every winter it shows here, and it's not just little snowflakes here and there. It comes down like crazy! You'll always see snow here in the winter.
I'm going out now, so i'll talk to you later. See you!

Yeah, we do temperature in Fairenheit (I can't spell it either), but in Celsius our summer highs are usually 30-35 lows 20-23 and our winter highs are usually 5-8 or so, but at night it usually -1 through -6.
Here's the link about Sonic RPG, there's not much yet. Just a link to a few articles.
[link]
But yeah, I never really even played Sonic much until I was 14 or so and the adventure games came out for gamecube and stuff (but the old games are fun too). I guess I've always been a 'Sonamy' fan because I've known a lot of people (myself included) that go through what Amy is going through at some point in their life (absolutely devoted to someone but they don't seem to return their affections). So I guess I see a little bit of myself in Amy! hahaha creepy, I know, right?! hahaha
I guess as far as why none of the 3D Sonic games have been break out hits, I don't even think it has that much to do with the story, etc., but I think it's more because 3D games can't be REALLY REALLY fast. Whether it's Sonic Heroes or Sonic 360 or Sonic Adventure or whatever, you can't be running around at a million miles per hour all the time. And again, that raises an even bigger issue of what kind of content do you want in the game (all running/action stages? Or do you want some running around/exploring to meet people, get clues, etc.?)
Well, I'm off to watch some football with some friends? Are you a sports fan? What's your favorite? Talk to you later.

Yeah, I heard about Sonic being in Smash Bros. yesterday. That looks amazingly awesome! I also read today that they are delaying the release of the game until February though (was supposed to come out in December before Christmas, but oh well).
That's a cool story about your history with Sonic. I never knew there were books about Sonic. It's always seemed weird to me because it seems like there was more Sonic merchandise/memorabilia, etc. stuff like that in the 90s, but there are many more Sonic games now. Oh well. I mean, I found one of the Tails and Cream Japanese plushes (nuigurumi) on Ebay a while back (just put a pic of them up on DeviantArt; they're so well-made; it's amazing!)
But I know what you mean about being busy too. I've had two tests and two major papers due this week. It has been busy around the clock. And pretty much if I'm not in class I'm at work from 8-5. But hopefully I can relax a little this weekend.
And yes, my name is Caleb. (I like my name very much! haha It's kind of unusual, which I like. I don't think I could handle being named Josh or Ryan or something...haha). And don't feel bad, I didn't ask what your name was either. I just know you as Blu3BlueSOn1c and Angel (from one of your pictures?)
If I had to pick, I'd say basketball is my favorite sport to play and football (not soccer haha) is my favorite sport to watch, but I'm willing to try pretty much any sport. Our winters are not very cold at all usually, but there have been a few times where it stayed below 0 (Celsius) even during the day for a day or two. It's been unusually warm lately though (28-32 for highs), but it's supposed to cool off to 23-25 this weekend). Enough with the weather talk, haha.
Have a good weekend and talk to you later. You're a great friend btw. So much fun to talk too! Sayonara!

Man, I wish I could play Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! My friend has it, so I'll probably be playign it there. Did you see the movie of Sonic being in it? Or just pictures?
Haha, yup there's stories on Sonic, but I don't have them anymore because my mom threw them out. You can actually buy them on Ebay I bought a Sonic stuffie off Ebay, then I found a store that sells them downtown, so I bought another Sonic one, and just recently, the same store opened up really close to my house, and im probably going to buy another Sonic stuffie P They sell Tails, Cream, Shadow, Amy and Knuckles too.
Ok, I thought it was Caleb, but I didn't want to be like, "Hey Caleb, how's it going?" and you'd be like "Huh? Who's Caleb?" Haha But anyways, it's a really nice name, very different. I used to have my name written somewhere on DA, but I changed it to Angel. My names Ashley. (even though I know you didn't ask ) Boring, huh?
It's begun to get alot colder here now, probably because of the wind, because the temperature is only 10 Celcius. I actually asked my mom recently how cold our winter's get, and she said around -30 or even -40 (Probably only once or twice). It gets to be so cold here, I hate it.
Have a nice weekend as well, and you're a great friend too! I never talk to anyone on this site, but you. Talk to you soon!

Wow, I am totally psyched about Smash Bros. w/ Sonic in it too. I saw a short video and it looked really cool. My favorite brawl characters to fight with are Pikachu, Sonic (hopefully haha) and the Kid Icarus character (another new one). I'm not a very good fighter w/o items, but it's an always an awesome game.
I've got a Shadow, Sonic, Tails, Cream, and Amy plush. It's hard to find the ones I wanted, but collecting something is always cool.
I was waiting for my roommate so I could take him to Wal-Mart last night (he doesn't have a car) and I got the 7th and final chaos emerald. I'm guessing the advice you were going to tell me about was to talk to Tails so he could 'ower up' the hovercraft thing. That made it a lot easier to catch Johnny. It still took me like 10 more tries and I still don't know what to do about any other Sol emeralds, but oh well. Did you beat Johnny and get that silver emerald yet?
I meant to ask you your name before, I just didn't want to seem presumptuous. Ashley is a really pretty name. I like girl names that start with A for some reason. Like Amy. haha Angel is cool too. Someone asked me once if I was going to name my kids Miles and Amy because of Sonic, and I was like, "uhhh...probably not." I think a kid named Miles would probably get picked on, but oh well. My favorite Japanese names are Takato (boy) and Ruki (girl).
I know what you mean, I don't usually really "talk" to many people on this site either. A lot of people aren't very..talkative I guess. Oh well, no big deal.
I meant to ask the other day, since you live in Quebec, are you guys required to learn some French in school, or does everyone speak English? When I was in like 8th grade in 1999 we talked about how Quebec had a vote and almost decided to break away from Canada and become it's own country at some point! I don't know much French at all (I think renard is fox and wee is yes but that's about all I know). I've taken 3 years of Japanese at college which is/was a lot of fun, but a lot of work too, but that's okay.
Well, take care and talk to you later.

Yeah, I saw the video too for Sonic in SSBB. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, my character was usually Falco, but I sometimes changed characters anyways. Did you hear about the Pokemon Trainer that you can use in the game? It's so strange. He sends out 3 Pokemon (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charzard) while he stands in the back yelling out the orders. For the new game also, I hope to use Pit and Meta Knight as well.
I only have 3 Sonic plushies. I want to buy an Amy one soon though, and maybe a Shadow one too. in about an hour, I'm going out to buy the next Sonic Comic issue! Can't wait! Do you buy the comics too?
And I completely forgot that you had to power-up your hovercraft. That was probably the reason why you couldn't catch Johnny. That wasn't the advice I was going to tell you though. An easy way to win, (well, this is the method that i did twice, and I won both times in a row) is to NOT boost in the beginning, so it saves up your boost for later, and you should only use your boosts when you pass by both checkpoints. That was my way of doing it.
Also, I did get the silver emerald awhile back, so now I have them all, but I still don't know how to achieve the rest of the Sol Emeralds. I think you have to find the secret islands or something... I'm going to check on Gamespot and find out soon, because I'm really stuck.
I'm glad you like my name. I personally like names that are different, like Cole, Willow, Simone etc. Those are my favorite names, (And probably the names I'll use for my kids) so your lucky to be named Caleb. Miles would be a strange name to use, I find, but I've heard of some people named Miles before (In books and movies). I don't have any favorite Japanese names that I like, but the names that you like are really nice.
I have probably 2 friends on this site, but we don't actually talk anymore. I only come on this site to look at other peoples artwork, and now to talk to you. The site I go on moslty is: [link] That's where most of my work actually is. I have around more than 150 pictures there.
In Quebec, you HAVE to know french. You don't have a choice. Almost everyone is french in Quebec, or at least around the area that I live in. I heard about Quebec breaking away from Canada, but I don't think we are. I honestly don't remember the details, because I usually never listen to those kinds of things. I think we were going to break away from Canada because we're the only province in Canada that is french. You're right about renard being fox in french, but wee doesn't mean yes. It's oui P But that's ok. I've lived here all my life, so I know french almost fluently. I've never learnt to speak Japanese though.
Take care as well. Talk to you soon.

hahahaha Sorry, I figured I probably wasn't spelling oui right. Wee! hahaha My bad! I think it's cool though that most everybody there speaks 2 languages.
I've read the comics once in a while, but I never got a subscription. I didn't understand what was going on, but I think that's basically because the first one I read was like issue 120 or something. I've also read some fan fiction where somebody made a reference to Amy making a wish that she was older so she could go out with Sonic or something (which they said was from the comic, but I didn't know).
That's good advice about when to use the boost though! I had just been using it up pretty much as soon as it got half full or so, but I tried again on the purple emerald just for fun today and I beat him the 2nd time. Stupid me, I had completely forgot or wasn't paying attention to what Tails was saying about powering up the watercraft. I guess I just didn't think that would help in the chaos emerald races or something. hahaha Stupid me!
Is your screen name the same on this FanArt Central site? I tried searching for Blu3blurS0n1c but I didn't find you. I might have typed it in wrong. All your fan art is great though! Your Sonamy pics make me smile. Especially the I'll never let go one. With all the bad stuff that goes on in the world it's nice to take comfort in those kinds of pictures. You really capture Amy's happiness and emotion in her eyes really well. Plus the Sonamyness picture is funny the way you did their eyes.
Speaking of languages...what language is Sol emeralds from? I was thinking it's Spanish for sun because there's a professional women's basketball team named the Miami Sol here in the US and their logo kind of looks like the sun, but I dunno.
Yeah, I mostly come on DeviantArt just to look at other people's pics and stuff, because I can't draw or anything, I write short stories from time to time. I don't really do much fanfiction anymore, but I think all my old stories I wrote in high school are on fanfiction.net (I think my id was tails5555 but I'm not sure). It was mostly Sonamy sappy stories haha, but like for our creative writing class at school we had to write a 20 page (double spaced) story for our final exam. It was tough, but it was kind of fun too.
I want to see your other art too if that's okay. Just let me know if I typed your name wrong on that other site or how I can see your work (I've always been jealous of people that can draw! grrr! haha j/k)
Have a good rest of the weekend and talk to ya later!

That's ok that you didn't speel Oui right. It was cute seeing it written as Wee. I actually have a French project due thursday, and I haven't even started.
I don't think I've read issue 120, but I just looked on a site to see which comic you were talking about, and I understand why you're confused. You have to read the beginning to understand it (which i haven't even done) and I don't even know the storyline as well. I have all the newer ones, from issues 165-180. (and some other ones here and there) I've never read the comic or the fanfiction where Amy wishes to be older, but maybe there actually is one, who knows.
I only realized by accident that Tails powers up the watercraft. I was talking to him for the fun of it, and he told me. Lucky me! Also, I'm at the Last Boss! I figured out how to get the other Sol emeralds. You have to find every Hidden Island (unless you already have) and completed them all. There's only 7 actual hidden islands that give you a mission from Gardon that you have to complete to get a Sol Emerald. I was missing the green and silver Sol Emeralds, but now I have them! I'll tell you which ones they are:
Sol Emerald 1 (Red):
Mission 4- Zone 2 (Machine Labyrinth) Boss Hard
Sol Emerald 2 (Blue):
Mission 7- Hidden Island 6 one life
Sol Emerald 3 (Yellow):
Mission 10- Zone 3 (Coral Cave) Boss Hard
Sol Emerald 4 (Green):
Mission 13- Hidden Island 12 one life
Sol Emerald 5 (Silver):
Mission 17- Hidden Island 8 one life
Sol Emerald 6 (Light Blue):
Mission 86- Zone 7 (Pirate's Island) Boss Hard
Sol Emerald 7 (Purple):
Mission 88- Final Boss Hard
Actually, it's not Blu3BlurS0n1c on Fanart-Central.net. I forgot to tell you what it was...My bad. It's Sonicluva. Heres the link: [link] I don't happen to like my Login name for it anymore, but I made it about 3 years ago, so I was young then I'm glad you like my Sonamy pictures. I want to draw more of them, but I never have the time. Right now, I'm stuck on requests and school work, but now that you mentioned that you like Sonamy pics, I'm in the mood to draw one now.
And I honestly have no idea what language Sol Emeralds is from. You might be right about it being the sun, because Soleil is Sun in french...but that may just be a coincidence. Maybe I'll look it up.
I've tried to write short stories before, but I'm not that good at it. I've written one about my fancharacter, but I've stopped that, and I also wrote a stupid comedy one. I've tried Sonamy, but it never turned out well. I had an idea once for it, but it got deleted from my computer. And you had to write a 20 page story?? That's insane. We've never had to write anything like that. Once we had to write either an essay or a story about a certain theme, but I forget what. I'm going to go look on fanfiction.net to see if I can find your stories. I'll let you know if I found it and what I think of them. I read alot of stories on fanfiction.net and now I'm waiting for the next chapter on 4 different stories that I'm interrested in.
Hope you like the other pictures I have. I took a look on both sites, and I really do have alot more on fanart-central.net (FAC).
Have a nice weekend! Talk to you soon!
~Ashley
PS: Is that your msn you wrote? or just an e-mail?

Thanks so much for all the advice. I was wondering why finding the hidden islands was important, but now I know! I'll let you know if I make any progress.
I check out the rest of your art on Fanart-Central and you are very talented imo. I like the Sonic Grinning Again one. That evil smirk of Sonic's is very cool and you captured it really well in that pic I think. The Go-Kart Yoshi one is really funny too. Yoshi and the koopa turtles are some of my favorite characters. It was really funny in Paper Mario for the gamecube, Koops the turtle is a forgetful koopa troopa with a band-aid across his nose. And the Angel in Sonic Riders style is great. That style of drawing is really eye-catching to me. A lot of people have replicated that in their fan art and do an amazing job. And the Sonic with hearts in his eyes as he looks at the chili dogs is hilarious!
I like chili dogs once in a while, but not very often. I'm more of a chicken/bird person myself. hahaha too much info right? hahaha
But anyway, great art all around! You are very creative. How did you decide on Angel's fur color to be yellow? I like yellow because it's bright and loud and inviting. My favorite colors are yellow, orange, black, and red (more specifically cardinal red; my favorite baseball and football teams are nicknamed the Cardinals haha).
Your stories are really good too. Very interesting ability you gave Angel to heal wounds and stuff. I am imaging either Cream or Amy will have that ability in the Sonic RPG or something, but more importantly, your stories are very cute. Stylistically, you use a lot of different words/vocabulary and that makes it much more enjoyable and easy to read.
If you want to read that short story I wrote for class, I can e-mail it to you (it's about kind of an opposite Sonamy situation where a guy likes a girl and he tries to get her trust him even just as a friend). It's called Flowering Memories. And caleb42@hughes.net is my e-mail.
I don't have msn messenger but I probably should get it.
Thanks again for writing me back so much! I know it's a chore to write long messages so often, but it really brightens my day when I get a message from you. With my 'in-person' friends it's always football and school and homework and stuff, but with you I can talk about Sonic and art and writing! Thanks so much for being a great friend and talk to ya later!
Caleb
p.s. Thanks for the nice comments on fanfiction.net! It makes me very happy to know stories I wrote made other people smile. That's what I try to do very day, is make at least one person laugh or smile. I've been working on a few new stories, but I still need to finish them up before I post. I was going to reply on fanfiction.net, but it's been so long I forgot my password! haha stupid me! Have a good one and talk to ya later!

No problem for the advice. Hope you find the last two Sol Emeralds. I beat the Last Boss too. He's actually really easy. I liked the boss from the 1st Sonic Rush more though.
Glad you like my pictures! The Angel in Sonic Riders style and the Sonic Chili Dogs are so old. I drew them a long time ago. The Sonic Grinning Again is a newer one though.
I've never even eaten a chili dog before. Are they good? I was going to buy a Mexican dog (i think they're called that) at school, but it was too messy to eat.
I decided on choosing Angel to be yellow by mixing different colors together to see which looked best. I like the colors light blue and pink best on a girl, but Sonic's blue and Amy's pink, so I didn't want to choose that. At first, Angel was going to be pink with light blue clothes, but then I decided she would have a pink dress instead. I played around with colors and yellow looked best. There aren't any yellow girl characters in Sonic, so i stook with that. Later, Angel's clothes started to change, and now it's light blue. My favorite colors are blue, black, purple, and maybe yellow (but I wouldn't wear it)
You read my stories? I'm glad you liked them. And you're right, most likely Amy or Cream will have the ability to heal. I'm thinking it'll more likely be Amy doing the healing, plus some other attacks with her hammer. I try my best to make difficult words in my poems and stories because if not, I find they sound too plain.
I'd love to read that story you wrote for your english class, especially since it's type of romance. Those are my favorite genres, as well as mystery and horror. What are your favorite genres to read? Send your story to mo1st_sm1le@hotmail.com
It would be fun if you had msn, because then we could talk there. I don't want to make you get one though, so it's up to you.
By the way, are you in high school or college? Because that story you wrote is insane to have to write in high school.
And it's my pleasure to write back. I enjoy talking to you and reading about what you have to say. I don't have any friends who talk like to talk about Sonic stuff or enjoy writing, so it's a lot of fun talking to you! I have one friend who listens to my Sonic "non-stop" chatter, but she doesn't know much about Sonic, so she doesn't add to the conversation. With you, we can keep a conversation going non-stop! (as you can see from all the comments left on the Marine picture )
So thank YOU for being such a great friend to me! I hope we stay in contact for awhile because I enjoy talking like this!
Talk to you soon!
~Ashley
Ps: No problem for the comments on your stories. I remember reading your "Are You Calling Me a Chicken?" one a long time ago, and I found it really cute. Once I found out a few days ago that you wrote it, I smiled and thought to myself "Oh wow! Caleb wrote this!" and read it again. Your other one, "Chaos on the Beach" was also adorable. I like how you changed the ending on the Sonic X episode, so that Sonic gets mad at Chris (I hate Chris) and falls in love with Amy. Very well done. I'm going to read the other Sonamy ones too, and I'll let you know what I think.

Hmmm....you've never had a chili dog before? I've never heard of a Mexican dog really, but it does sound messy. I like Mexican food once in a while, but yes, chili dogs are quite messy. They're a 'heavy' food too, I guess you could say. It's not like eating chicken strips or something where you can just eat one and go on, but a chili dog really is a lot of food, but I don't like very much chili on them and I don't like chili w/beans and I don't like eating chili by itself.
I'm a really picky eater! I don't eat any kind of nuts, but I love creamy peanut butter. I don't like tomatoes or most vegetables (except corn, lettuce, carrots, potatoes and raw spinach salads (weird, right? haha). But I love fruit! I like all fruits except lemons, limes, and tomatoes (I guess since they're a fruit supposedly).
You really do have a great talent at drawing and art, and your writing will continue to improve as you get older. Just going through school and reading stuff (whether it's books, things online, etc.) will improve your vocabulary tremendously, so that will come with time even more.
I totally know what you're saying. I have some friends that are really big gamers but all they really like is Grand Theft Auto, Halo, etc.; so it is definitely fun to have someone to talk Sonic/Mario/etc. with. That's amazing that you read my Are You Calling Me a Chicken story a long time ago. Talk about coincidences, huh?
Thinking back on it, it is so funny because I just heard from someone what happened in episode 50 or whichever one it is where Chris shut off the machine, and it made me so furious because I was already disappointed in the writers for Sonic X because they basically made episodes out of the video games and just inserted Chris into them, and the worst/least creative thing to me was when one of the chaos emeralds was disguised as a ring for Chris' mom. (ugh...just lame imo, but oh well.)
I read in one of his interviews that Yuji Naka said Sonic will always be mainly directed toward the younger kid audience (I'm guessing that means 6-12 or so, which makes sense in a way, but I think if you look at Mario, he has a wide range of fans across all ages from 5 to 25 because they make a variety of different games and stuff. And I mean, Smash Bros. and Mario 64 and stuff aren't incredibly dark, but they're a lot of fun and something 'older' fans can really get into and spend money on.
Thanks so much for offering to read my story. I'll e-mail it to ya in a few minutes. And yes, I'm in college (I think the longest thing we ever had to write for a high school class was like 8 pages double spaced and that was a research paper in an English class). I just recently turned 21 and started graduate school in August. My major was accounting and I got a minor in Japanese. I really should put that info in my profile, but I never get around to doing it. Writing and video games and stuff are my hobbies and where I try to let me creative side out because I doubt I'll be making a career out of it. haha
Anyway, thanks again for the nice comments. It's always nice to have fans! Take care and talk to you later.
Caleb

I want to try a chili dog so badly, but not at school. I'll just look like a messy pig. I love the smell of chili, and the taste too, only if there aren't any beans in it, like you said.
I'm a super picky eater too! I hate vegetables except cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, and salad. Brocolli, green beans and potatoes are the worst for me. I don't mind fruit, but you won't see me eat it often. Watermelon and bananas are my favorite, probably, along with grapes. When it comes to sweets, I'll eat anything.
I actually have a class called Advance Writing, where you aren't allowed to write essays, but you can write stories, poems, autobiographies, anything you like at your own pace. There's no real assignment, the teacher just says: Ok, write something and show me later if you want. I like it sometimes, but I don't enjoy writing too much. I've written a prologue to a book I was going to write, a short story of 55 words (had to be that short) and a poem. If you's like, I could send you some of them.
You take amazing photographs. I still simply adore the bird ones you took. Maybe I should take a picture of here when the snow comes down. Would you like that?
I didn't like how they made the shows from the games, but it was only 10 episodes that they copied out of 70 somthing. So it's not too bad. But I hate that Chris shut off the machine. It just made him look like he was obsessed with Sonic (He probably is though). It was too...yuck, for me. I also didn't like the idea where they used a Chaos Emerald for Lindsey's (Chris' mom) ring. A Chaos Emerald is just too big for that, it looked silly.
Did you read the interview on sega.com/sonic? Because I read something like that there. Yuji Naka also said that he made the characters colorful because he wanted to attract kids to the rainbow effect. (Sonic being blue, Tails; yellow, Knuckles; red etc.) Mario's kind of like that too, and I find the real reason why Sonic is considered more childish is because they made Sonic X. The show was just too young and cheesy for my likeing (even though I have 3 of the DVD's). Mario's had more serious games like Super Smash Bros. and stuff. The Mario Party series is the only childish game they've got.
I have to get off the computer soon, so when I have the time, I'm going to read your story. I took a quick look at it and I know the girl is named Amy and the boy is Takato. I read a few lines also here and there, and it sounds so interresting that I can't wait to read it! I'm going to be starting cegep (it's college for you guys, cegep for us) in a year, so yes, I'm still in highschool. I graduate this year, so that'll be fun. I'm 16 turning 17 soon. I'm hoping to either go into Software Design or Counselling for Assaulted Mothers and Children. I have an economics oral to do in 2 days, and I've hardly started, and then the write up for it is 3200 words... It's going to suck so bad.
Anyways, no problem again for the comments. Glad I made you happy! I love getting comments on my pictures, so I know how you feel. Hope to hear from you soon!
~Ashley

Picky eaters rule the world! What's a better word for picky? Eccentric! haha
And anything you send me of yours I would love to read. And a picture of the snow would be awesome I'm sure. All we usually get in January/February is cold, cold rain. Which is nice in its own way because I always get inspired to write happy and sad stories by the cold rain. Plus playing football in the rain is fun too.
I absolutely agree with what you were saying about Sonic X. The whole thing with Chris was just too...yucky (you're right it is the perfect word). And the whole thing with his parents and grandfather and Ella just made it too childish I think. I mean, there doesn't have to be some bloody fight to the death with swords and spears, but a little more serious/in-depth plot w/o Chris in it would have been much better for having a shot at broadening the Sonic fan base I think. Like to me, if they lived in their own world, Cream and Amy living together on their own or by themselves on their own would make it more interesting, because they can still be 12 and 6 or whatever their 'official' ages are, but 6 in rabbit years wouldn't necessarily have to mean 6 in human terms. I mean, it was funny to see Cream do stuff like convince the pitcher in the baseball game to not throw so hard to her, but all the stuff about her watching the purple dinosaur on tv and stuff was kind of dull to me.
Another classic example is Episode 2 where Sonic infiltrates that base to save Cream. That entire episode could have been done w/o Chris at all. I think it would have been a much more successful series if it was set in a 'furry' only world.
When I first saw an episode of Sonic X, I thought they were trying to pass Chris off as some kind of Ash knockoff from Pokemon. But oh well, I didn't see every episode of 53-78, but it was better. And turning the Sonic Adventure games into episodes 26-38 or whichever ones it was wasn't a big deal, I just didn't watch much of them because it was kind of like a re-run or something.
That's really interesting about the rainbow colors of the characters thing. I did not know that at all. That is somewhat creative now that I think about it. I never got any of the DVDs, I wanted to get one of the Japanese ones because I like that Sonamy ending theme Hikaru Michi (The Shining Road), but I just never got around to buying one off eBay. [link]
Wow, that sounds like a lot of work! 3200 words and an oral test! I'll leave you alone for a couple of days so you can prepare and everything. Are you graduating in the spring of 2008? Are you graduating a year early is it normal to graduate high school in Quebec when you're 17? Here you graduate high school when you're 18 unless you have an unusual birthday or graduate early. Either way, congratulations!
I imagine software design would be tough, but you've got the dedication for it. And I already know you'd make a great counselor because you're very compassionate and easy to talk to. I don't think anyone would have a problem opening up to you with their problems.
Good luck and talk to ya later!

Alright, I'll e-mail you the prologue of the story, and when the snow finally appears here, I'll take a picture for you. We get rain in April the most, but hardly in the winter.
I just hate Chris. My friend and I always make jokes about him, about how dumb and childish he is. I also couldn't stand Tanaka at all. He was just...there. He didn't fit in or anything, and seeing him with Topaz...no thanks The episodes where Chris or his family weren't in it were probably the most mature, like the episode with just Knuckles and the guy named Hawk, as well as Shadow's episode with Rouge and Molly. The first episode was also really good, until Chris showed up and ruined it. Haha, when you mentioned a fight with swords and spears and blood, I started laughing, because I can picture them all going after Chris (I wish). In the episodes from 53 and up, I hated that Chris came back, especially since he turned into a 12 year old again. I got so angry about that. There's also an episode, i forget which one, but Sonic's falling in the sky or something, and then Chris comes out of nowhere in his mini airplane and screams "SONIC!" at the top of his lungs, with his arms outstretched to catch him. That is the one scene I cannot stand at all. He just looks like some obsessed she-male Barbie doll. Haha! I would also prefer it too if they had stuck on Sonic's planet, instead of transporting to Station Square.
I also enjoyed Sonic X episode 2. Only, again, if Chris wasn't there. He ruins everything. I heard that they were suppose to make a 3rd season, but the decided not to because it was getting bad ratings. Also, they don't sell any of the episodes anymore. They took it off the market, because that's how bad it was.
I remember hearing the Sonamy ending song before, and I was dying to know what the english lyrics were, so I looked it up and found it. Here's the link: [link]
I found it adorable that they used an ending refering to Sonamy. Sucks that it's only in japanese though. You've probbaly heard this, but at the end of episode 52, Sonic said "I Love You" to Amy. I don't know if that's true because I don't understand Japanese, but I hope it is. Of course, the English episodes won't show that.
My project is due tomorrow, and I've hardly done a thing. School was closed today because a pipe broke, and I was hoping to start working with my partner, but now I can't. Let's hope they postpone the project for another day.
Yup, I'm graduating spring of 2008, and we only go up to Grade 11, instead of 12, so that's why we graduate at age 17. And thanks! I can't wait to get out of highschool, but at the same time, I'm a bit nervous for cegep/college, especially since I'm not 100% sure what I want to do with my life. I'm probably going to leave Quebec after University and everything, because I honestly can't stand french anymore. It's driving me up the wall.
I just recently thought of the councelling, and thanks for saying I'm compassionate and easy to talk to. I'm still thinking about what I really want to go into, because my 1st choice was being a Chemist, because I have the math and science grades for it. I would've gone into that, but I needed enriched math, a certain science program, which I didn't end up getting. Now if I wanted to be a chemist, I would have to do an extra 2 years of cegep, and I don't want to bother with that. Also, I'm not sure that I would want to do that for the rest of my life, so I gave up on it.
Anyway, because I don't have school, I'm going to start reading your story! So, I'll talk to you soon!
~Ashley

It's always nice to chat with a fellow Chris-basher. hahaha I have heard that rumor too about another season that never got made because the ratings were so bad. Supposedly episodes 53-78 haven't even aired in Japan yet because they're trying to wait a few years and get the 'bad taste' of the first 52 episodes out of everyone's mouth. But again, I agree, same problem in 53-78 for the most part: Chris just falls into places that make things awkward and they don't flow well.
I had forgotten about the Shadow and Molly and Rouge episode, that was a good one. I heard they edited out him putting a rose on her grave or something in the English episode, but I dunno that for sure. Episode 52 was a funny thing in Japanese to me. I downloaded like the morning it came out and someone had put it on a fan site (I think they were still on episode 30-something in the US). I started watching it and nothing great was happening and the Amy 'on-fire' throwing lots of hammers was really funny (again, to me, this was much for of something that an anime should be; something that is completely impossible but still really funny and conveys Amy's anger in a hilarious way), but I started skipping ahead and saw Amy running down the path and I backed it up to listen to the whole thing.
This is the Japanese SonAmy scene in Ep. 52: [link]
Some of the lyrics are a little strange, I'd have to ask Iida Sensei (our Japanese teacher) exactly what they mean, but in Japanese, the song lyrics are something like:
kimi ga boku no namae wo hajimete yonda natsu no hi (From the first time I heard you call my name that summer day)
boku wa kimi wo aishi hajimeteta (My love for you started)
ano yoru kimi wa heya ni inai, demo boku wa nanimo kikanai (But that night you weren't in the room, I didn't hear anything; like this line I'm not really sure about)
Anyway, skip ahead to the scene at the end where he gives her the flower. The music is saying
toki wo ai mo tamesanaide itsumo (itsumo) ai wa (ai wa) yureterukara, kokoro wo tojite daremo soko he wa irenaide (Time and love don't change but because your love always shines, you are the one that closes my heart and I'll never put anything else there).
So to me, the music makes me think he said he loves her, but his voice is blocked out by the song so I guess we'll never know unfortunately. If you want the lyrics to the entire song I can write them out for ya later and I'm sure they're on some website, but I didn't feel like looking them up right now. The animation of that entire episode, but especially the Sonamy moments was amazing! I'm guessing it was all done on computer but it looked so 3-d and colorful and realistic.
Have you ever heard the Sonic X theme in French (with the Japanese music). I thought it sounded pretty funny and cool. I don't know what they're saying, but the chorus sounds like "ipper super sez Sonic! and all this other stuff. it was a pretty creative song to me because they kept the Japanese music and wrote French words to it.
Here's a youtube link to it: [link]
And calling Chris a she-male Barbie doll was great. That definitely made me smile out loud. One of the best insults EVER!
A pipe busted at your school? That's pretty unusual but lucky right? I didn't know that about you guys only having 11 grades. The way it is set up here, you can finish through 11th grade if you really push yourself and take extra classes, but most people go through 12th just enjoy the extra year of high school before college begins.
I still feel the same way sometimes now. I mean, the job I'm working at part-time right now is as an Academic Adviser to students, which I enjoy, but I'm not entirely sure if I want to do accounting for my whole life either. I get bored really easily with things. haha I like to try new things and learn new things all the time. I guess my brain just has a really short attention span.
Don't worry though, things will all work out for you if you work hard and have faith. Hard work and dedication is what most people don't have enough of.
Well, good luck on the project. I'm off to do some homework myself now. The high here Thursday is supposed to be 32 Celsius (90 farenheit). Unbelievable! haha Shorts and a t-shirt for sure.

If what your saying is true, about episodes 53-78 not airing in Japan yet, then Sonic X really IS that bad! Never thought it would be that horrible, but you learn somthing everyday, right? And I like how you put it: "Bad taste." Haha! And it's true how Chris just lamely sticks himself into the picture. There should be crickets chirping and a lonely tumbleweed passing by when he makes an appearence!
I didn't hear about them taking away the part where Shadow puts a rose on Molly's grave, but I do know that Molly didn't die in the English version. They cut that whole scene out. It just looks like Molly flies away, and Molly tells Shadow that they'll meet again. When I saw the Japanese version to the episode, I was completely lost. Once I figured out that theres an lternate ending, I got pretty angry. 4kids just makes Sonic X look completly childish, that they won't even show someone dying.
I'm going to watch the Sonamy movie tomorrow, because it's 1:30 am right now. Yes, I know it's late, but it's not my fault. Remember that project I had to do? well it took me around 5 hours to do. So I'm exaucted, and right now I'm just waiting for the video for my project transfers to Youtube. I'll tell you what I think about the Sonamy movie tomorrow, along with what I thought about your story.
I've actually haven't heard the French version yet, but tomorrow I'll watch it and see if I can translate some of it for you.
And I'm glad you liked the insult I made about Chris. D Also, I found out that school's open tomorrow, so I don't get to stay home again. Oh well, what sucks though is that once I get home, I have to work on my french project. Can school get any worse??
The only job I'm doing at the moment is Babysitting I might even have to babysit tomorrow if the lady is stuck. So I'll have to do my project there. Ughhhh...
I found out a little while ago that I can't go into councelling for abused women and children in Quebec. I'll have to talk with some of the colleges later on to figure it all out. But your right, things will work out, for you and me.
You're lucky. It's freezing here. It's so cold in my room that I sometimes have to sleep with my house coat on! Haha!
Anyways, I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Wow! I didn't see the Shadow/Molly episode in English, but it figures that's how they'd set it up. Children should never have to approach the concept of death....ever. I mean, I don't know if they are just naive or what, but most of the 10-13 year olds I've seen that post on boards on-line are exposed to a lot worse than a fictional character dying in a non-violent way on a Saturday morning TV show.
I mean, I don't know if the ratings don't really matter or what for kids shows, because you would think they would listen to what their audience says about/wants in shows. I always thought Sonic X would be funnier if they played up more of the comedy angle too (do an episode where Cream gets REALLY REALLY angry (going against her totally kind personality); do an episode where Cream tries to get Sonic to go out with her and Amy is....less than happy about it....haha; do more jokes about Tails wanting to eat Cream since she's a rabbit! mwahahaha! Or Tails talking about eating snake eggs or bird eggs or mice or something since he is a fox and all (or show him catch a mouse in his mouth; I mean not gross, but in a funny anime kind of way). But oh well, I guess Sonic X just wasn't mean to be. Maybe in five years they'll try again. haha It's strange too because for a finance class we had to take, we had to look up a bunch of companies' financial statements and I looked up 4Kids' statements for fun and they actually made less money in 2006 than 2005. It said it was partly due to reduced advertising revenue, but it didn't go into specifics
(You probably know about this, but especially here in the US, there's been a big push for censoring children's advertising. Kellogg's even pulled all their Lucky Charms commercials (or some other 'really sugary' brand from all shows aimed at kids under the age of 12 because of pressure from a potential lawsuit; I think that's dumb, but oh well. Parents are generally responsible for young kids' eating habits and once you reach a certain age, you have to make your own decisions I think.
The really unconfirmed rumors that I've read, is that when 4Kids! TV's contract runs out to lease the Saturday morning slot from Fox, they aren't going to renew it, and that ABC and NBC are considering dropping their Saturday morning line-ups entirely. Supposedly they're basically giving in to the cable networks since Saturday morning isn't 'what it used to be' back in the 90s. I can't imagine they'd completely pull all the animated shows, but so few of them are American made anyway (they're practically all edited/dubbed) I doubt the big networks care since Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon have practically cornered the market.
Babysitting, huh? My littlest sister Molly babysits from time to time, and she says it's a hassle. I'm okay with little kids for a while, but I like my personal space after that. haha Maybe someday I'll grow to like them.
I think it's really admirable that you want to get out of Quebec and explore the world too. Once I've saved up some money I want to visit Australia and Japan and Hawaii (and I've heard western Canada is really pretty too). I've been to New York City and Chicago, but they weren't too exciting, but that was mainly because we were on a school trip at the time and we couldn't go off 'exploring' and we didn't even get to go to a basketball game or a taping of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (You had to be 18 to even be in the audience for some reason. hahaha)
Well, good luck on all your projects and homework.
I think the worst sleeping night I had was after Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Since where I'm at right now (Starkville) is about 300 miles inland, it wasn't so bad. We were only w/o power for 2 days, but at my parents and little sisters' house in central Mississippi, they didn't have power for 5 days. It was so hot inside! My roommate had one of those atomic clocks with a thermometer in it (it was almost 80 degrees fareneheit at midnight). It was awful. But I imagine trying to sleep when it is super cold is really tough too. We didn't get too much damage, but a really huge tree did completely crush our shed when it fell on top of it! It was kinda funny. I'll try to find the pictures the next weekend I go home.
Have a good night and talk to ya tomorrow!

It's true what you're saying. There's alot more violent shows that children watch than just Sonic X. Seeing Molly getting killed wouldn't have triggered them too much. Things like Transformers or something is worse because they're huge robots that shoot things. Also, in the episodes, everyone thought Shadow died (if they never played the game that is.)
They should, as you said, make it funnier than just the cheesy pick-up lines. That's the one reason why my friend hates Sonic. Yes you heard right, hates. It's not always easy to communicate with her without me mentioning Sonic's name at some point. But oh well, I find the cheesy talk is mainly in the show, not much in the games. I always hated it when someone in Sonic X would say something like: "Let's go do This-and-That!" and everyone else would go and cheer really loud saying something like: "Yeah!!!" and they'd all jump in the air with thumbs up or something. I just hate seeing that, I must admit. They really should put something completely out of the ordinary, as you mentioned before (Cream goin super mad, Tails eating a mouse, etc.).
What do you mean censoring children's advertising? You mean they're getting rid of children's commercials that aren't good for them to watch?
No more Saturday morning cartoons on 4kids, ABC and NBC? That's no good. It doesn't bother me because I don't watch any 4kids episodes, (except when Sonic X was on) and neither ABC or NBC. Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon aren't really popular here, for us it's mostly Teletoon and YTV. We get a few shows like Spongebob that is sponsered by Nickelodeon, but not much else.
I'm pretty calm with children, and they don't get on my nerves much (since I've had practice with my 6 year old brother). When they do get on my nerves, I don't often show it, I try to be very resonable, and I say good things to make them happy again, like if two of the kids get into a fight, I tell them to say sorry because it's the right thing them to do, and it proves that they are big boys/girls. They usually listen to that. I've been told I'm very good with kids, and that the recent family that I've babysat for said that I'm their favorite out of 5 other babysitters. The kids love me. (Not trying to brag or anything P)
Honestly, I don't like to travel much. I really want to go to Australia and Japan too, but that's probably it. I love being at home, in the neibourhood that I grew up in, and when I'm in a new state/province I'm not always comfortable. I do like going places, don't get me wrong, but I wouldn't want to be away from home for too long. I don't get completely excited when someone says: "I'm going away to Cuba!" or something. I'd want to go there, but I wouldn't be head over heels in love with the idea. And now I'm just babbling.
Oof, I wouldn't want a tree falling down on my shed. The worst that we've had here was the ice storm sometime in 1994 or 1996, not sure. The power went out and we had no warmth, so if you didn't have a fireplace, then you froze. And the thing was, I didn't have a fireplace. So yes, I froze. I had to stay at my grandma's with my family for about 3-5 days, and I had to sleep with a coat on, snowpants, gloves, a hat, and lots of socks. My dad stayed home with my animals, and somehow stayed warm.
I watched the Sonamy movie, and it was really cute. I just wish that Sonic's voice wasn't cut off. So far, almost all the clips that I've seen, Sonic's voice was cut off at the part where he's suppose to say "I love you, Amy." It bugs me. Also, I watched the french version of Sonic X and I was able to pick up only a few things, since the singer was singing really fast. What I heard was "Vous le sauver, Il est le plus fort" which means "You will save us, He is the strongest." I also heard "...M'attrape pas," which means "Can't catch me," (Or it means "Don't catch me," I can't hear the whole thing). And the thing you heard was him actually saying "Il est super, C'est Sonic," which means "He is super, it's Sonic." They also say something about a magic blue tornado too, meaning Sonic. At the part where he turns Super Sonic, it says: "Mettre sa vie en danger, Jouer sa vie pour nous sauver," which means "Puts his life in danger, Risks his life to save us." (Jouer really means Play, but then it wouldn't fit too well.) Anyways, that's all I could come up with since it was hard to hear correctly, but if you're able to find me the french lyrics, I'd be glad to translate them for you.
The story you wrote, Flowering Memories, was adorable! I even Aww'ed at the last line, where it was the first time they laughed together. I found that so sweet. I also liked how it was 10 years that it finally took for Ami to open up to him. I know what it's like to have a friend for 10 years, since I've known my best friend for that long, since Kindergarten. I didn't stop reading it for a second. I also like reading flashbacks, and I could mentally picture that part where Takato's resting at the fountain and Ami suddenly appears. The effect that you made at the ending was very well done as well, where Ami didn't say anything, and instead just handed Takato the flower, symbolising that she deeply cares about him, just like she cares for her mother. It was such a pure moment that I happened to really enjoy. All in all, it was absolutely marvelous.
Anyways, I'm going to go eat supper now, so I'll let you go. Talk to you soon.
~Ashley
Ps: For the fun of it, I searched up Starkville on Mapquest, and it takes about 22 hours if you drive from here to there. Interresting.

A 22 hour drive, huh? That's actually not as far as I thought it would be. Maybe I could cut it down to 20 or 21 hours of I broke the speed limit! haha j/k I'm terrible about going the speed limit practically all the time. haha I'm terrified of getting a ticket. Plus my car isn't that fast anyway. It's a white Pontiac Sunfire.
Thanks for the nice comments about my story. I was definitely writing it trying to get a lot of awwws in response. It was really weird because for that class (there were only 12 people in it) each person had to pick a day they were going to 'resent' and everyone else had to read that person's story in advance. We also had to read a page or two out loud from the story and everyone critiqued the stories, said what they liked, what was confusing, etc. I'm always nervous speaking in front of people, but all in all, it was a good experience.
That's funny stuff in the Sonic X French theme. A magic blue tornado! hahahaha Sound like some kind of commercial for kitchen cleaner or something. An ice storm sounds kind of fun (except for not having electricity, heat, etc.) We had one when I was REALLY little (like 4 or 5). I don't remember much except lots of snow and when the trees and things have iced it is really pretty (but dangerous too I guess); I'm assuming falling ice would really put a hurtin' on ya.
I'm guessing you've seen the French version of Episode 52? Sonic does actually say something to Amy, but I don't know what it is.
And I totally know where you're coming from about all the characters saying "Yeah!" or something cheesy like that. I know people that absolutely HATE Sonic and company, but LOVE mario to death (have posters, keychains, etc.) The only reason they give is that "Mario isn't gay." Most of my friends think Tails is a girl. hahahaha Oh well, there's no pleasing some people.
I know what you're saying about traveling too. I don't mind traveling, but home is always the best place to go to. Friends and family are truly something special and really feel blessed because I know a lot of people who don't even have a family to love them, much less friends to really care about them and watch out for them.
So are you leaning toward going to college/cegep in Quebec or in a different province or is it still totally up in the air? (Sorry if I'm asking you too many questions about college; I know I got tired of everyone asking me the same questions when I was in my final year of high school). Do you have to take a test to get in? Here we have to take the ACT or SAT.
What'd you have for dinner? I had some kind of whitefish called tilapia(if I spelled that right), a salad, mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and a sugar cookie (and a Coke to drink). Well, I'll let ya go and talk to ya later.

Well, 22 hours is pretty long for me. Every summer and winter, I go down to Toronto, which is a 6 hour drive, and that's also considered long for me. I'm not good with being in a car too long, I sometimes get car sick, but it's never too bad where you have to stop and take a rest every 30 min. I'm not able to drive yet, but if I had the choice, I would be. I have to wait until I'm 18, which is lame.
And no problem for the comments. In my advance writing class, we have to read a piece of our work out loud as well. I read my 55 word story, since it was long. I don't like presenting anything infront of the class either, especially in french.
Speaking of french, I love what you said about the magic blue tornado P Hahaha kitchen cleaner! It could be the new Swiffer for all we know. The ice storm wasn't too much fun, especially since I don't like the cold much. But we all have different interrests.
And I haven't actually seen the Sonic X episode 52 in french. Do you know where I can find it, so I can let you know what Sonic and Amy say?
Yeah, I've heard how Mario fans consider Sonic gay, and how they think Tails in a girl. I remember talking to a friend once, and she's like: "I want to play as Tails. She's so cute!" I just shook my head, tsked, and said that it wasn't a girl. But as I said before, we all have different interrests. We can't all like the same thing. We can't make someone like something.
I would never want to leave my family and friends, but i might end up moving to Toronto after cegep or university, or even after highschool, depending what I want to go into. I've already have my cegep planned out if I go into Software Design, but not if I change my mind and deside to do Councelling. We don't have to take a test to get into a cegep, I don't think. We just have to pass our provincial exam at the end of the year in highschool. If it's a good grade, you will most likely be accepted.
Well, I ended up eating canned ravioli for dinner. Because I accidently fell asleep when I got home from school, I woke up at 9 pm, and realized my dad threw out the leftover supper that I missed. Oh well!
Glad you liked the prologue. I actually had the whole story planned out, so I'll tell you what it would've been about. After the little entry you read, I was going to either going to continue it so you could see what the "Or so I thought" meant, or skip to the next chapter and so on until the opportunity came up again to explain what DID happen that day. And what did happen was that the day went on until it became night, and someone broke into the house (who we find out later is connected to Willow somehow). Trying to escape, Willow, Simone and Patrick run outside, but in the end, Patrick and Simone get killed by a knife or something, not sure about that yet. The person who broke in escapes, hearing police sirens (neibours heard a commotion and called the cops). Willow breaks down and cries, while seeing the two dead bodies lying in the snow with blood everywhere. A few years later, a man named Cole ends up appearing in her life, but doesn't know of Willow's past. Cole and Willow begin to fall in love, and Willow realizes that the love she had for Patrick wasn't as strong as it is with Cole, but she still can't get over their deaths. At one point in the story, Cole tries to bring Willow ouside at night to joke around, (in the backyard) which it's December, 3 years later. Willow freezes in her tracks once she actually gets outside, unfocusly staring at a heap of snow that makes her picture the two lifeless bodies with blood all around. Willow begins to cry uncontrollably, and that's when she tells Cole the story of what happened that night. See, I wasn't sure if I wanted the reader to know at the beginning what happened to Willow, or that if I wanted to wait until the part that you just read came up. (Am I confusing you?) I like the idea better where the reader is clueless to what actually happened to Willow until they get halfway in the story. So I'm still not sure if I want to continue, or if it's a good enough idea.
Also, to answer your question from the e-mail, I probably want 2 or 3 kids, but it depends. I love kids, but it would be even more amazing to see little me's running around all over the place (and my husbands as well, whoever that'll be). Hahaha. I want a boyfriend too, but it had to be someone that I'm comfortable talking to and being with. Has to be the "right guy," as you said about the girlfriend that you picture.
Anyway, I'll catcha ya later. Have a nice weekend. (I don't have school on friday, so it's a 3 day weekend for me. )

Lucky lucky you! No school tomorrow! Wow though, you can't drive til' you're 18? I'm sorry about that. In our state, you can drive by yourself at 15 1/2 (only from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m.) and you can drive by yourself when you turn 16 (but a lot of people criticize American driving laws because they think they are too lenient.) I think it's generally okay to let people start driving at 15 or 16, but every country can make it's own rules I guess.
hahaha Yeah, a lot of people I know call Tails 'cute' too. I mean I guess he is (as a guy I'm not supposed to use the word cute though hahaha). But you're right, different people like different things. I just think it is weird that at least among the people I know, many more of them have a dislike/hatred of Sonic than of Mario. Which is hard to explain because I like both series a lot. To me, Mario series games on the whole have always been better, but the Sonic series characters are much more in-depth and real (which I think might be part of the disconnect; most people view Mario as a fun, sometimes sarcastic character with fun and silly stories (like Paper Mario games are always full of sarcasm and off the wall crazy stuff). But I think a lot of people have a perception that all Sonic games are 'serious' "We've got to stop the evil Dr. Eggman and save the world! type stuff, when there are some good one-liners and things.
Also, this is just personal opinion, but I think people have always been able to identify with the mario bad guys a little better (like the turtles and goombas and koopa kids and stuff are a lot funnier than just robots). Oh well, since they've got Sonic and Mario at the Olympics, it'll be really funny if they ever came out with a game that pitted Mario and Sonic against each other or working together (but that would probably be too weird).
Canned ravioli? That's good once in a while (though the meat tastes kind of spongy to me).
Oh yeah, I completely forgot. It sounds like you've really got it worked out what you wanted to write your book about. I agree that keeping the reader in the dark about why Willow freaks out is a good idea. Plus I think that makes it more fun as a writer. I might have kind of an idea about how I want a story to end, but I don't really try to think up every little detail that's going to happen in the middle in advance. I don't like being tied down to one idea. Sometimes that can make things challenging, but oh well. All you'd need to do is just change a little bit at the end of the prologue.
I wonder if Cole is the murderer? nahhh....he couldn't be? Right? mwahahaha! Either way, any new ideas you come up with for that story or any other writing that you want to share, I'd be happy to listen to/read. Creative people like you are so fun to share ideas with!
I have Sonic X French 52 on my computer. I don't know if it's too big to e-mail, but I could always copy it on a CD and mail it to you. It's really strange because they kept the japanese song in the part where amy is running all night to find Sonic, but of course all the dialogue is in French. It sounds like he says "merse something something something Amy, depit dujour?" Of course, I have no idea what I'm writing, I'm just trying to parrot what French Sonic was saying, but I'll check around online to see if there's a clip anywhere.
Well, I think I might have set a record for longest Deviant post yet, so I'll let you go. And I know the right guy for you is out there somewhere. If you haven't found him by April 2009, I'll personally come to Quebec and ask you out (assuming I can find my way around since I don't speak French hahaha).
Have a good night and talk to ya later!

Sorry that I haven't written back to you in awhile. I've had to work on a project, I had to babysit until late, and one of my pets just died, so i've been kinda down.
We're allowed to drive at 16 here, but my mom won't allow me to drive until I'm 18. I already know alot of people who've started driving, but I have to wait. I've been trying to make my mom let me get a permit or something at least. We have to have an adult in the car for a whole year until you can drive alone.
It's the same way here. One of my close friends hates Sonic (even though she used to like it) but she likes Mario. I find Mario is more childish than Sonic, but not in a kid way. For Mario, there's alot of color around, like in the Mario Party series. My brother's 18 and he still plays Mario Party, but he won't play Sonic, which I find, depending on which game, looks older and more mature. But you're right about Sonic being "serious" and stuff, take SA2B and Sonic the Hedgehog 2006.
It's actually easier to identify Mario's enemies than it is Sonic's...I never thought of that before. Also, when I was babysitting the other night, I brought over my Sonic X movies for the little boy to watch (since he likes the show) and we were watching an episode that actually had alot of good "jokes." Like, Amy started yelling at one of the Metarex guys (From the season 53-78) And called him a geek and a loser because the Metarex guy had an Eggman temporary tattoo. I find little things like that are funny, mostly. There were a few other jokes like that in the episode, like when the Metarex guy said "Prepare to..." and he couldn't think of what the next word would be, so Amy's like "Prepare to...Battle?" and Tails' said "I dunno, Battle sounds kind of weak, doesn't it?" The way he said it made me laugh. There's a site where I can probably find the episode, but it's not working, for some reason, right now.
Yeah, canned ravioli. I don't like it much either, but that's all I could cook at 9:00 pm. I like Alphagetti's more.
Yeah, I plan on changing the ending to the prologue. I don't really like that part much. It'll be a bit longer than what it actually is also. But i doubt I'll ever finish it. If I ever have an assignment where I need to write a story, then I'll keep it for future use. Haha, nah, Cole won't be the murderer, but that has given me an idea that he could be accused of killing them. And if you have anything to share, I'd love to read it too.
Well, You have the Sonic X french episode on the computer right? You could always put it on youtube or something, but that might take awhile. You could probably mail it to me too, but I don't know if that'll take up too much of your time. And what you think Sonic said, instead of "merce," he probably said "merci," which means thank you. and "depit dujour" is probably "depuis toujours" which means "always" or something.
Awww you would honestly come down and ask me out? That's sweet! Well, don't worry, it wouldn't have been a wasted effort, because I would've said yes if you did ask me. April 2009 would be a long way away, I'd be 18 by then, but I think you planned it that way, right? And people here do talk both french and english, just more french.
Anyway, I'll let you go, and again, sorry that I didn't post for awhile. You were probably thinking I stopped talking to you or something, but don't worry, I haven't! Talk to you soon.

I'm so sorry about your pet dying. What happened if you want to tell me about it? I know the pain hurts so bad. Every time my dog has ever died, it really feels like a part of your family is gone. I hope you get feeling better soon, but I know it takes time.
I had a friend whose mom was the same way about driving pretty much. I think she let him get a permit when he was 16 and he didn't drive alone until he was 17 1/2 or so. I know it can be a scary proposition for a parent, but I think learning to drive earlier is better. It's gotta happen eventually.
Yeah, I guess Sega just has bad luck when it comes to the perception of their products and characters sometimes. I think you're right about Mario being more 'kiddy' especially in story-line and colory/rainbow design of games and stuff, but I dunno, the popular perception is just that Sonic is more childish, but there's not really any evidence to back it up. Maybe it has more to do with when people in general think of video games, they think of Mario? I mean, he's been there since the mid 80s and Sonic's been around since the early 90s. When people think of Sonic they think of running fast and a cool look, but I dunno, overall it doesn't make much sense. Sonic just needs some good luck.
Those funny little sarcastic comments are my favorite kind of humor too. I think I'll try to find an editing program so maybe I can just upload the Sonamy French scene to Youtube if that's possible or I can just mail the whole thing to you. It's no problem. I live like 1/2 mile from the post office. I'll try to find some video editing software later tonight and let you know how it turns out.
And that's a good idea to hold onto the story because you never know when you might need it. Kudos on setting it in the winter too. I think the setting can give a writer so many more possibilities too. Blood in the snow! It could be like a cannibal's favorite flavor of slushie (ewwww gross! hahaha)
I'm so happy you would've said yes! < jumps up and down wildly> hahaha I say April 2009 cuz I don't know what exactly the rules are about someone over 18 dating someone under 18, but I think it's other things that there are laws about. (But that's after marriage stuff anyway). Either way, you're still pretty and cute and a fun person to be around. And if it's ever meant to be, we'll meet somehow someway.
Here's hoping you get to feeling better soon. I know there's nothing to say to make a broken heart feel better, but I'll be thinking about you in my prayers.
Hope you had a good weekend and talk to ya later.
Caleb

Yeah, I'm not too sad anymore. It was a hampster, and I only had her for 2 years, so It wasn't like a 10 year pet that you'll really miss, like a dog or something. I still cried a whole lot though, because it's the first time I ever saw someone or something dead, even if it's only a hampster. My grandmother died in May, but I didn't actually see her deceased, so it had less of an effect on me. We were extremelly close, so I'm glad I don't have the memory of seeing her dead.
I mentioned it again to my mom, about the driving, and she asked what would I use to drive in, since she won't allow me to use her car. (It's pretty old, so if anything happens to it, we don't have another car to use) So I'm still thinking about it. I just came back from checking out Cegeps, and if I decide to go to the one i visited today, I'm going to go into Illustrations and Design. Something along those lines.
Sonic's got such a cooler look than Mario. And Mario's a plumber! How creative is that? I don't find that's very exciting. I still like both Mario and Sonic games, but I've been around Sonic stuff more, so I find it more interresting. But it's true how Mario's been around longer, so maybe thats why it's more popular. Also, alot of the Mario games change around. It has sports games, action games, adventure games etc. where Sonic has mostly adventure games and action. I still find Sonic's better.
Do you have Windows Movie Maker? Well, you can only have it if you have a Windows XP computer or something, not a Mac. Go to Start> All Programs> Accesories> Windows Movie Maker. If you don't have it there, then it should be somewhere, or you can download it. Either way, it's a way of making movies. You can import the whole Sonic X movie file onto Windows Movie Maker, and it comes out in cut portions, so then you can upload the ending onto Youtube or something. It's an easy way to turn big files into smaller ones. If you want to do that, and you have any questions, just ask me, I'll be happy to help.
Haha a cannibal's favorite slushie! That's cute! But it's true how the winter gives it more of an affect. It's easier to make a description of a winter wonderland, than it is of the summer. So I'll keep the prologue for future use, it may just come in handy.
Awww I'm glad you're happy! I didn't think you would even imagine the idea on wanting to ask me out or anything. I'm glad you did though, because you seem like such a great guy to get to know in person, and I could tell we would get along great. You're also a pretty handsome looking guy yourself. I'm not sure what the age for dating here is. It's either illegal for someone over 18 dating someone under 18, or it's 16. I'm not sure. I'll ask someone out of the blue, see what the answer is. You said something about other stuff that come after marriage that would have a law. What would that be?
I'm feeling better already. I've felt alot worse before, so I'm getting over this really quickly. I'll be thinking about you're kindness.
I'll talk to you soon, and thanks for caring.
Ashley

Death can be a really tough thing to deal with. Especially the first time I think. The first time any close relative of mine died was summer of 2005 (my mom's dad/aka my grandad). We weren't really close, but it was still very strange. They had an open casket at the visitation and everything and it was very...awkward I guess you might say. I even....gasp...touched his hand. (his wife/my step grandma; it's a long story...) was showing us this ring he wore and a pin they put on his suit because he fought in the Korean war). But like I was saying, I wasn't especially close to him (partly because he was like 76 and he was kind of..err...racist....like if we were talking about sports or something....he would always refer to Tiger Woods as "that N-word this, etc., so I always felt awkward around that. But still, seeing my mom cry and stuff was really hard. I felt kind of bad, but I was more sad for the people crying than about his passing. I guess it's kinda true what they say about funerals and visitations being more for the living than the dead. Tons of people I'd never seen before in my life came. But I feel better knowing that I've been to one, but it still kind of creeps me out. All that said, in 5th grade we went on a field trip w/our middle school to a morgue and that was awesome! hahaha Actually, it wasn't that cool, but it's a fun story to tell. 5th grade is really too young to do something like that because a bunch of my classmates were actually trying to hide and mess with the drawers and stuff. Oh well, kids will be kids! hahaha
I know what you're saying about your mom and the car. My dad was the same way when I turned 16. He would only let me drive this old red car that didn't have a heater or air conditioning. It was awful, but at least it got me to school and stuff. Sometimes I forget how lucky I am to have the things I do have.
Windows Movie Maker? I think I do actually still have that. I tried opening it in this software called Camtasia we had to use for a project, but it wasn't letting me upload the French 52 file (it's a real media file), but I'll give it a shot in Movie Maker.
Oh yeah, I completely forgot! Thanks entirely to your help I beat Sonic Rush Adventure yesterday! My mind gets so one tracked sometimes, it probably would've never occurred to me to find all the hidden islands. I was going to just try to beat all the other missions (which is kinda like banging my head against the wall because some of them (esp. the finish an act in a certain amount of time ones are hard! By the way, did I mention I suck at video games! haha) You were right about the final boss, I beat him on the 3rd try.
And Sonic is definitely cooler looking than Mario! I actually like the color red better than blue, but Sonic just has a more sleek and stylish look. Mario and his overalls....hahahaha! But yeah, there's just not much of an explanation for it.
And that's awesome about the cegeps. Is that cegep in your town or close to it? Do they have like a dorm or some place you stay in on campus or do most students live at home? I was just reading up on cegep on wikipedia and found out that it stands for Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel. (nice use of the copy and paste function by me hahaha).
A lot of the students just starting college here are required by some schools to live on the campus of the university, but I dunno if that's a good idea or not. The rent is crazy expensive either way (I live in an on-campus apartment and about $400 per month, but some of the ones off campus are a little more or less than that).
And what I was talking about the stuff that comes after marriage having a law was < lowers voice to a whisper....having a baby...err....three letter word that starts with s and ends with x. > hahaha; Maybe I've just watched too many episodes of Law and Order. They had one where this girl was 28 but looked like a teenager and pretended to be in high school and would go from school to school living off of the government and falling in love with guys at the school and then killing them. mwahahaha! crazy stuff!
Take care and have a good Monday.
