it's the periode of strawberries in france and i wanted to draw something in rapport ^^i don't know why but i love to hurt mochi france , poor it ^^

Smother has several meanings:
> suffocate
> to cover excessively or thickly
> to give someone so much attention and emotion
I was going for the second definition.
Since England ate the strawberry, France-mochi, could have jumped and rolled around and cover himself in the strawberry cake, then annoy England because now he's all dirty.
There's a saying in English that is used as joke, "covering yourself/me/you/it in chocolate" or "smother yourself/me/you/it with chocolate" Its used to either make something tasteless more appealing, or make something already appealing more appealing.
