Finally it's finished!!this was originally just a doodle. just wanted to try out some new ways to color and shade.

and yes, the background sucks, i noe. i'm really bad at scenery T___T
but to be honest, this is by far the most detailed work i've done in digital.

so it is with my pleasure to introduce to you Tara Sigurd, she is no war goddess nor does she have any kind of super power. she just a normal 18 year old country girl, she joined the army to replace her brother, who is ill and weak.
for a girl to be in the army,it was tough,but Tara never gave in to pain or fear. this set Tara apart from the others, she refused to give up and was determined to survive.

the background really soen't suck ya know. You should see the background on my pics... well no you shouldn't. it's too horrible.

the background was totally cheats all the way lol, it's just shadows (playing wif positive negative space). lol and the sky was @__@""
btw, ur Background isn't horrible at all. you dared to use color!! something i'd be terrified of actually, Dang, i need practice.

question: do you have a tablet? and if so how do you start a drawing? Sketch on paper and then trace with tablet or tablet without tracing?
I seriously can't draw with my tablet alone. I need my sketch for tracing. Sad huh?

i do have a tblet, but i just bought it last month so it's still quite new for me.
at first i would just scan my sketches or lineart, but then i wanted to draw straight on the tablet. it wasn't easy. my friends here know all about it. i was struggling to get use to it. it took me a a few week just to draw a face. T__T (heck, believe it or not i was so frustrated tat i cried LOL talk bout being a crybaby...)
most ppl would say "wow ur art is good because you have a tablet now, i'm so envious"
but by my personal experience, its not like tat at all... i had to really push myself to learn how to use it, after all, its just a tool. you just have to preserver and just keep practicing.
XD dun give up. just keep trying. you have my support XD

I like it, looks like it's on fire. It's some of the best work I've seen on this site in a long while.
One little critique though, the sword's handle is a little awkward.

Actually you just need to make it a bit thinner. From my own experience larger handles are harder to hold on to for a while.

it was crooked at first when i drew it..and i had a lot of trouble getting it straight. XD lolz
but wat u say is true.. having small hands myself, i would just get blisters if i were to hold such a huge handle. XP
