My first self portrait and first ever serious portrait with Prismacolor Colored Pencils.Jamesy hates me right now XD It's his fault for flaunting that he had sushi when I was hungry.
I've decided to start a new series of portraits (I have no clue when I'll finish it with college starting) where I do up close pictures of my friends and family to decorate my dorm. I started with a self portrait just in case I completely sucked at drawing with Prismacolors. There should be 8 total (trying to convince my little brother that pictures are good).
I love Prismacolors. I used SOOO many colors to get the shades that I wanted and it all blends so beautifully
I've got to work on hair though. In the reference, my hair was curled really wierd so I just kind of made up hair. So that's my least favorite part.Materials: Canson vellum paper, Prismacolor colored pencils

Time: Three days working when I felt like it.

Great portrait like I said, but now that I read more kind of disappointing it is only 5 by 7 inches, that is barely big enough to hang on a wall. Great for a computer size purpose like this one, but reality is that is very small, impressive but small. Gives you opportunity to focus in on detail though and you did a great job on all of them in that regard. How you create shadows is perfect though, really good job.

I chose that size because it was small. I live in a dorm and I don't have room for all of them to be so big so I drew them small on purpose. Thank you for the comment, I really do enjoy working in a larger size but couldn't with this project :/

VERY cute! The colors are blended awesome-ly (is that a word? huh...) and you did great on the hair for making it up. When I do my drawings I sometimes have to tie myself done and force myself to draw it how I see it because I can make it up, but then it won't have the same flow with the image as when I draw it as it is.
My favorite parts are the lips and the eye we can see. Gorgeous details.
What colors did you use for your skin?

Thank you! I always hate making stuff up because I feel like it's not supposed to be there
I used peach for the base color. I used cream and white for highlights. And I used henna, black cherry and cool grey (70% I think) for the shadows. And when it needed a little more color, I added pink or poppy red. I tend to use a lot of colors and layer like crazy with colored pencils.
