Well, sort of... "mata" means "again" and "chi" means blood, although I don't think Japanese people would think of it that way because I read "ma" and "tachi" as different parts of the name.

I really didnt intend the name to mean anything in Japanese. ^^ I just came up with it after making the character and when I drew this years later I thought Id see if the name meant anything in Japanese and apparently it does. o.O

That probably happened to me with other characters, picking a name and then having it mean something... I just don't remember most of the situations. |D
I just looked it up and Matachi is a possible Japanese name, but the "chi" in that context means earth, not blood.~
