Description Another WIP render from one of my many personal projects I have going at any given time. This one is a steampunk barge that I designed back in late 2007 for an illustration class. Used that design as inspiration to start this project.

Not a case of the world we have lost - a case of the world we just never did find.

My first thought was " no way that could/would fly . After that I'm thinking that it's very cool . Good job .

Yes you are correct, there is no way those little blimps would generate enough buoyancy/lift to get that thing off the ground. I gave it a lot of thought when blocking this piece out and I decided to take a little artistic freedom with it because I liked the composition better with the smaller balloons; larger balloons just overtook the whole thing through sheer size.

I'm really happy that you ended up liking it in the end! Thank you so much!

Yeah , unfortunately physics dictates that the the gondola would be dwarfed by the gas bags .We need something like ERB's 5th ray from his books not the stunning but really confusing movie .

Thank you! When I finish the model and post up more detailed renders you should come back and check it out because there is a lot more detail there than what is visible from this distance. i.e. The boilers under the tanks in front have all their plumbing, valves, rivets etc all modeled out as well! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Post it to the airship group and receive mass plaudits.

#AirshipEnthusiasts. I didn't see their imprimature on your image, but I could have missed it.

Nice work. What tools did you use for modeling?

Thank you! So far this has been entirely modeled, textured and rendered within Autodesk's Maya.
