The Dragon is the fifth animal of the zodiac. It's main element is wood.
The Tiger, Rabbit, and Dragon are all have the main element of Wood.
Blue = Water
Green = Wood
Orange/red + Yellow = Fire
Brown = Earth
Grey + Dark Grey = Metal
The Kanji means "the dragon", this is the Traditional Chinese Kanji.
Next will be the Snake.

Chinese New Year (or Lunar New Year) isn't on January first like a regular (aka Gregorian) year, but on their lunar calendar - which is usually 2 new moons after the Winter Solstice.

heh that dragon is a bit different from the kind of dragon people usually draw. but thats not a bad thing. actually its a good thing. coz i really like the style of its body. its feet and hands are pretty nice and very well done. hehe i like the tip of its tail. but my favorite part is the head. the hair and the hors are pretty nice. the expression is scary. hehe i bet those teeth are sharp. the coloring job and the shading are amazing. and i like the fire. another awesome pic sweet. i cant wait to see more of those
