Some problems can only be solved using a mace. For these, we have her. Bonus points cause its on fire, to help purge the sin from their souls.

Okay, this being my character, I should explain how a Sister of battle can be a mutant (since that's what she is).

Mechanically, she is in what we call "RT2e", which is basically a mix between the Rogue Trader system and the Dark Heresy 2e system. Since it is using the rogue trader origin paths, there is one called "tainted" which lets you roll for a mutation without taking any corruption. In addition, she is a adepta sororitas from Enemies Within (Dh2e) who takes insanity points instead of corruption if they gain any. Therefore, she is a mutant and "pure".

Fluff-wise, she was born with a degenerative genetic disease created by theΒ Adranti, a human culture eradicated by the imperium that genetically modified a lot of animals, and in this case also some humans. Think shadows over innsmouth style with people slowly turning into fish-people, in her case, shark.
"Thankfully", her village was raided by Malfi slavers and the mutants were taken to take part in "religious plays" (She's from Seth's Piety) where rich people could play Seth and his followers and kill some mutants (unwillingly playing the part of the sons of Drusus along with other low-lives, it wasn't a terribly accurate play). The whole thing was eventually taken down by arbiters and Minerva (who was called something else back then) was mistaken as the child of a dead arbiter. Still being physically pure, even the most through purity tests unable to prove otherwise while the disease was inactive, she was taken into the local sister chapel.Β

But as the disease starts to rear its ugly head, she has to avoid her fellow sisters and find a cure for it.Β

Very nice. Always good to see people still keeping the Rogue Trader game alive through rules bashing and kitting.

Sounds like a really great background for a fun character. Definitely would like to see more form this campaign!

I thought she was just voidborn.

Yeah, that what she tells people. In fact, I told Blazbaros to not make her too unlike a voidborn. Since people in the WH40k universe don't tend to take too kindly to mutants. Especially if they're with the ecclesiarchy.

I don't think I'd ever get into Warhammer, but if there was anyone best suited to convince me, it'd be Blaz. Because good arts.

Anything that's just a touch shy of full-blooded human and not a mutant.
Ogryns (Big, slow, and fiercely loyal ogre dudes) and Ratling (literally just Hobbits) are the two most common variants in the lore, but many others exist.
