Description Here's one of my newest character I've created a week or so ago. His name's Srebro Van Pendragon, my alter-ego's great-great-great grandson, and Quicksilver Castillo's grandson. In case you're curious what "Srebro" means, it means "silver" in Polish Thus both his hair and fur is silver, while his eyes is red, and the tattoos (in outline -since I'm too tired to shade it with my poor hands) are black^^

Half-Polish to be exact But, pathetically, my skill in the language is lacking since I'm neither born nor raised in Poland ((I can't quite say what's my other half and where I am now)), but I do plan learning the language in the near future since (my polish) mom plans to move back to Poland in future (well, initially I graduate from collage here, but now...sine my babka and dziadek passed away 2-3 years ago, my mom doesn't seem to be in a rush about returning ...I didn't ask her if she's still going ahead with her plan yet since I feel it's a touchy subject, so I just kind of wait and see if she does or not). *sigh* Anyway, from what I hear from my DA polish friends, it sounds like a tough language to learn.

I am Pole too I was quite intrigued, because using polish language in giving names is rather not popular, I think o..O Yes, comparing to English it is quite difficult, basically You should switch over to another kind of grammar o..O
Hyh, but if it cheers you up, we have a lot of difficulties to learn English too

I know, but using common names (regardless of origin) sounds too...well, common and boring in a way, so (after I've created him as a nameless random character I've doodled back then) I looked through my mom's pocket Polish-English dictionary and looked up for the polish word for 'silver' just curious to see if the sound of it is good and suitable enough as a name (to fit his silver hair and fur), and when I found it and asked my mom for the correct pronunciation to be sure -and it clicked.
I think I've a few other characters whose names are taken from words in a different language. Like (for one example) an original arch angel character of mine called AnioΕ‚ Sanador. Aniol for the Polish word for "Angel" and Sanador..........er....I forgot what language its from, but it meant "light" I think >.<;
Anyway all in all, using a particular word with a certain meaning that fits the character is intriguing to me, as you say.
*laughs* Yeah, kind of. I'm more fluent in English than my father's language. Though I think I kind of sucked at pronunciations, and my spelling is a tad bit rusty. But aside from that, its what I'm best at....in school (besides art)

Yes, it's very true xD And in that case I though it's quite weird that Polish can be interesting for foreigns at all xD [limited meh].
Sanador? I thought it's some kind of "sana d'or" - 'gold health', it sounds like Italian [dunno]?

Heh XD Actually I used to think it's fun when I was a kid (don't ask me why my memory's kind of vague / hazy ), but now...gosh, I've a feeling the grammar's going to be a problem

Um, they're not fires... it's kinda just a random 'shapes' / designs -whatever In other words, it's kinda like his own tribal tattoo...kinda a mark of leadership by his chest/torso.

*LMAO* Same here Especially to read about the whole process of it from the needle *shudders* I'd rather have the friendly temporary tattoos I have now, although it may not be 'fun' as they'd wipe off in a week or two, or so. So I just used off the ones I least like, and kept the cool ones
