Acrylic on illustration board. 10" x 15". 2014When I was a kid my Grandpa would take my brother and me for a ride in the country and show us old farm houses and tell us about the things that happened there (murders, suicides, and even an axe murder). He'd give graphic details and I would try to imagine what the people in his stories looked like. He died when I was 17 and I still miss him and his stories.

I'm sorry for your loss of your Grandfather, The loss of a grandparent is the loss of a priceless treasure to a grandchild. Even all these decades later I still miss my grandparents.
If you still remember the stories he told, my I humbly suggest that you write them down before you forget them and if possible, publish them in a book in memory of your Grandfather, the master storyteller.

Thank you. He was special. His stories were based on urban legends, mostly but what made them special was that he took us to the places where they supposedly happened.

The painting itself is so beautiful and interesting, but I love the story behind it, it adds a little something to it.
