Wow stunning! I cant get pastels to work D= What type of pastels did you use and how did you blend the colors?! Very nice work!

Thanks I used Faber-Castelle Pastel Pencils. I'm not sure how I blend the colors though I start with the lightest color and end with the darkest, that's it. I don't really use tissues or anything for the blending

Pastels are notoriously tricky for me, so I say job well done! Using the black paper was a very good move, it really gives the piece a sense of light and shadow

It's not crappy at all! I actually thought this was a photo when I saw the small version just now. Very well done, especially for the first time with pastels... I usually smudge them totally

Nah I mean the smudging that accidentally happens (left handend -.-) when using soft media such as pastels... usually ruins the whole picture for my, why I'm always using dry, hard media such as HB pencils

Smudging can also have nice effects though

Ahaa! Try to draw from right to left or put a paper on the area you finished so when you put your hand it'll be on the paper and nothing will get smudged..

I tried all that, also using gloves () ... to judge the main view of an image I need to see the whole thing, why covering parts with paper is not really helpful
I'm doing digital art now, best solution *lol* no smudging, no water dripping on the paper or any other issues
