Description "But then suddenly, the fire stops. I immediately turn to face the robot, my sword flaring to life with electricity. It lowers its arms in a defensive stance, a clip ejecting from the still spinning gattling gun and then pauses."

So, yeah. I can draw action poses when I feel like it.
I just had fun with the robot to make it look modern and dangerous while fighting the urge to make it overly humanoid. I like tri-pods. I hope my interpretation isn't too far off from the intended image.
I also tried to draw bullet-holes in the tiles, but I thought the tiles would look more high-tech if they didn't crack or have damage spread to nearby tiles and... yeah, sorry 'bout those.

Aside from the bullet-holes, I'm actually rather pleased with the final result.

Sorry for the late comment. My saturdays are super busy, lol.
This looks really awesome, though! I love the way you styled the robot, and it looks so awesomely sinister! I also really like all of the bullet holes in the walls. Those are an excellent touch, and look extremely good.
And of course, S-223 looks great also. You did an extremely nice job on his pose and I love his snarl and jumpsuit.
So alas, I suck at critiquing artwork, but what counts is that I love it and I think it's an awesome piece for the contest.
[Be sure to look for the official announcement tomorrow!]

Yeah, I will admit that the tripod robot first took me by suprise, but it really is a pretty awesome. Now I'm just waiting for the other entries, but I suppose I should post the contest announcement first, eh?

I was debating on that for a while, but decided that a tripod would be best for a fighting robot since it would be more difficult to knock over and could still somewhat operate if one leg got damaged or removed while still being simple enough to draw. Besides that, I like the number three.

That is indeed an excellent design for a combat robot. And it makes it much more creepy and alien-like, which is an excellent touch!

I suggest you add a few bullet-holes to the 9 tiles above and to his right

Yeah, I was a bit concerned with either adding too many or not enough.

They're bullet holes! You can never have too many. Though i would suggest making a definite pattern/ general direction for some of the bullet holes.

I intended it to look like it had run out of bullets near that area.

Okay however usually bullets are fired in strafe's essentially continuous lines of fire

Well, I actually tried for that. I did worse than I thought.
