Rebelle 7.
I painted this for my partner as a Christmas present. She has gone blind but she still has light and color perception with some detail through a tiny pinhole's worth of vision in one eye. The diagnosis is Stargardt's (we thought it was RP but turns out, it's likely not). She was able to see most of the colors (there is some minor blue spectrum colorblindness, sadly) and some detail with her illuminated magnifying glass.

I'm going to take a moment here just to inform anyone who may not know: Blindness is a spectrum. If someone is blind, it doesn't necessarily mean "total blank screen." Sure, it can mean that, but most blind people still have some degree of light, shadow, color, and/or movement. Some blind people can navigate environments relatively well as long as there's enough light. Some blind people may need mobility canes or seeing eyedogs but not all do.
Also, please, for the love of every possibly existing god, do not tell a blind person "well, you don't look blind." There is no way to "look blind". That milky white eyes thing is specifically cataracts which not all blind people have. The spooky white eyes + no iris/pupils thing is specifically Hollywood. I don't think that's a thing IRL or if it is, it's extremely rare.
And for Pete's sake, educate your dang kids, will ya? If you can't be bothered to do that, don't get all pissy when a disabled person explains the situation to your brats who just blurted out something rude because you didn't teach them any better. This happens WAY too often. We've even had children try to mess with my partner's mobility cane! More than once! And both times, the !@#$%^&*ing parents got mad at HER! WTF, people? Come on.
Lastly, keep your shitty comments to yourself.
"If I was blind, I'd kill myself."
"I don't see the point of trying to look cute when you're blind."
"You shouldn't be on a mobility scooter if you can't see."
This is just a small sampling of comments we've heard in public. Please fucking don't. This may come as a shock but amazingly enough, not everyone in the world needs to hear every thought that goes through your head. It is perfectly reasonable to not say things out loud.
Anyhow, that's my hill for the day.
