“There, the cleanest blanket you wanker.” Arthur wrapped the blanket around Francis’ thin body. The edges gathering up the dirt and blood from his hair and face.
“Merci, Angleterre.” The nation didn’t move from his spot or even look the other in the eye but just stare at the ground.
Arthur stood up and looked down on his company. The man was a mess of a broken soul that looked as lost as any soldier before him. “You’ve cut your hair.”
“Yes.” Weak answer. “I wanted to fight with my people and my hair was in the way. It will grow back.”
“You have been defeated.
“Yes.”
“You are going to die like this?”
“No.”
“Then get up you bloody bastard.”

It’s France…during WWII.
His hair cut short, covered in mud and blood, some of it his, some of it not; and just trying to keep from completely losing it.
Normal war.

I just like beaten looking men
And I don’t really like France but I like drawing him
