I can't remember a movie with a bad acting of Jack Nicholson, He is great and yes, his brief role was awesome, (Is one of the few actors who actually can act as masochists and be credible) )
I guess that the problem with the musical was exactly that, it was not a horror movie or an actual B movie, it was just a commercial movie (because the musical's ending was so dissapointing compared with the original, but according to the 80's movie taste) :S But if you live here (In Mexico), where the original was not commercially shown, causing you look for that in Amazon and you think in both movies as different things, is a good (not something great, but good) movie with a similar plot as the awesome Corman's movie
Urinetown? O.o I never heard about that, but that title doesn't excite me :S

True true XD
Recently re-watched the movie "Anger Management" and couldn't stop laughing.
As I mentioned before, at times I can be pretty nitpicky about what I like, especially musicals.
I like CATS (seen it 2 times with uncle and grandmother), and would like to see WICKED and YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN if I'm ever given the chance.
You SHOULD NOT be excited about Urinetown, unless it relates to something along the lines of "I hate Urinetown" or "HURRAY! Urinetown isn't playing at our local theatre!"
1st heard about it back in highschool when our Literature class got on the topic of plays/musicals.
We discussed this one briefly (not brief enough in my opinion). It's a musical performed in a positive way, but actually ends in tragedy despite being so upbeat.
Basic plot is the world's water supply was depleted so low that the government goes as far as to elimenate indoor plumbing and install public toilets that people have to pay to use. Naturally only the very rich and powerful have bathrooms :/
Refuse to do so and they send you away to a place called Urinetown, which turns out to really be them taking the trouble makers to the top of a building and pushing them off to their death.
The very first song at the beginning of this thing?
"It's a privilege to pee".
