He's a bit pale.The original is a bit pale too, but I don't mind that.. though not this pale.
I like the way he turned out> kind of innocent
Done in watercolours and with red and black fineliners

I might do another one of the series tonight or tomorrow.. I have a little sketchbook with lots of cat sketches that need to be painted.. so the kitties are coming ..
But today is drawing day. I fell in love with watercolors so much that I've been almost totally neglecting coloured pencils.. so I forced myself to use them today.

My pleasure, of course! I know what you mean about having artists you like watching you. I find myself working on something and trying to do better because I know people in DA are going to see it. It's really a great incentive!

I learned a new word!
It's very motivating indeed, but it can be a bit of pressure if you're a bit uncertain..
I'm such an idiot sometimes: I painted a Blue Jay: I'm all proud of it, lots of details, love the expression> I submit it.
/it was pretty late.. most of my friends weren't online but there were some problems with da, so I had to wait../
I upload it, an hour goes by, noone checked it out> I start checking the picture online and notice the beak.. yeah it must be the beak they don't like..
I can't go to sleep, so I check out friends and their friends..
2 hours.. still nothing.. > the scanned version is pretty pale.. that must be it..
2 and a half hours later it gets the first comment and fave and I have a big grin on my face and I see that the bird looks great.. I go to sleep happily.
This morning: yeah, the beak is not perfect, but it looks all right..

I've done that kind of thing, too! It seems that if we're really excited about something, waiting for comments is just terrible! You start thinking that people must not like it, but it's really just a matter of time!
