Description This work was for an illustration project. I wanted to do a portrait of my pet rat by mimiking the style of another deviant, telegrafixs. His stuff is awesome. It worked out pretty well. The line art was done by hand and then coloured in photoshop.

thankyou. it was based directly on the artist i described above, telegrafixs. his stuff is awesome. you should check him out if you have time: [link]

all credit for the style goes to him. i was basically copying it for a technique-based illustration class....

thanks for your comments!

thanks heaps make sure you let your parents know that female rats dont stink if you clean their cage once a week. they're excellent pets, more like tiny little dogs. ill email them for you if you want

wow...
the composition is amazing - i love how the cheese is kinda relegated to the corner but it's still there. something so whimsical about that. and the rat! adorable! awesome how you actually own a pet rat, hehe. love the background and the lineart, too.
and i just realized how intricate the coloring is. definitely a +fav.

interesting work...here are some advices that may help u in future...that white line that goes arount that rat is to wide...needs to be thiner coz you need it just to separate rat freom background.then you should try to experiment with thickness of the outlines on the rat...somewhere wide line and somewhere thin.ussually it is the best if this line that goes around the rat is wide and lines inside the rat just to point the position of other parts of body are little thinner.the only flaw in textures that are here is that cheese...the textures on the background and the rat are fantastic but the cheese is just yellow and do not belong beside that rat and background.maybe you wanted that but i think that tiny orange or white lines on the cheese would do the job perfect...

anyway you have quite unique tehnique and you just need to evolve it into fantastic tehnique...it is good already but it could be better

enjoy
