The Alien Atlas. The Martian Manhunter

Part of my series of redesigns on DC characters. Here for this take on J'onn J'onzz I pretty much use the New 52 version of the character as a template for both the design and story. Namely that he will pretty much be working for the US government overseeing metahuman activities and Earth's defense (think he character in Supergirl). So in this universe J'onn is basically head of a new government program for a task force that deals threats that could negatively affect the stability of the world. This new branch will comprise of many of the best soldiers, scientist and (most importantly) super humans to resolve the dangers that is presented to mankind. The main forces of this group are the superhumans, that of which J'onn personally selected who would best represent this new group. This includes himself, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Aquaman and The Flash.

This team will be known as the Justice League of America.

As for origins, well, basically J'onn formed this team after receiving premonitions of an invasion that would devestate the planet Earth and all of its inhabitants. Initially the team thought it was the White Martians who have been convertly using facilities to terraform the planet in such a way that makes it inhabitable for them; and they all prevented such a plan. But a las, the White Martians only committed such action to protect themselves from a more sinister force; one that have years ago nearly drove the martian race to near extinction. One that J'onn have remembered years ago, fearing that it may happen again.
