Illustration I did to illustrate an rpg campaign "Maudit" (cursed), for a french game called "Chroniques oubliΓ©es contemporain".The first illustration inside the book, but actually the last I did. The story takes place nowadays but this is to illustrate that its roots are much deeper.

So I'm curious what the context of this image is about. Would you be willing to indulge me? What are the two armies fighting over? Who are these factions? Does the witch have any part in this, is one of the armies fighting to save the witch?

The whole rpg campaign is about 2 pseudo-religious/occult factions that fight each other for centuries. One believes that some young albinos girls have powers that can "save" the world and the other one think that they are witches that need to burn.Β
Actually the campaign takes place nowadays, in a slightly dystopian near future, and a new albinos girl has been taken hostage... It is really a good story, players have to play with both sides, it's gritty and dark.Β
So I was asked to create this image to illustrate the deep roots of this story.
