Description
This is my gift for my mom for Mother's Day. she wanted a scenery with no people in it. and I know she likes Thomas Kinkande's work, so I thought I'd do something similar.and yes, Lord of the Rings inspired me also.
I thought I'd experience with texture on my canvas this time. I used house paint and tissue paper for the texture. xD it looks really nifty and feels awesome, so I think I'm going to try that again sometime. :3
If my mom doesn't like this picture, I'll shake my fist at her!

oh, well in class, while I was painting this, one of the guys that was looking at it said that gnomes live in it. I asked "why?" and he said that he plays some sort of online game and there's these little gnome characters that make little things... like windmills.
so after that, I just kind of stuck with it and decided gnomes live there. xD

How could she not like this picture?!?!
Anyway, the thing that pushes this picture beyong the limits of epic and amazing, in my opinion, is the coloring in the sky. It's simply 10,000% better than a simple blue or even a pinkish orange sky. It just looks like there was a lot of thought put into the lighting.

I think you master it once you master water coloring. I used to water color a lot, WAY before I decided to use acrylics.

oh yes. after seeing some of my fellow classmates use texture on their art, I thought I'd try it too for once. you need to use a lot of paint though... to hide the white in the cracks.
