Description
Original sketch by ~Gabby-chan1994 (check it out at "Curls." ). The shading is all her's.Colored in Photoshop.
I used a bunch of different layering properties.
What's the proper category for this?
Comments/suggestions/"do this again!"/"never do this again!" appreciated

This is beautiful. I don't draw or paint so I can't give a fair critique, if you even wanted one... I don't know. But I do know that this is amazing and I wish I was her. She's so pretty! You've done very well and should be very proud.

really? photoshop? i thought it was colored pencil at first...
the coloring job looked a bit grainy and color pencil...esque

Coloring = the magic of photoshop. Fun fact: four of the blues (skirt, the ruffles, and the bodice) are actually all the same color with different layering properties.

This is absolutely stunning. I thought you used either PrismaColor Markers or Pencils; I never would have guessed Photoshop. Either way, it's beautiful.

Hopefully this weekend I'll have time for fun stuff and I'll try out a shaded version (it'll be less colored-pencil-looking, so it might not look as nice...)

I like it... I think you did a good job with the coloring. In fact, I thought you had done the shading(the color blends so well with it) until I read the description

ahh, I wish I could take credit for that, but it's all from the magic of Photoshop. The different layer blending options make a bunch of different things happen (I'll probably put up a couple "versions" in scraps later, maybe, showing off some of it's magic. Or combine some into the same picture. I don't know yet.)

Short answer: I do!
Long answer: I do! I'd consider myself a photographer over digital artist/etc, but I've been having some issues with my camera / my computer recognizing my camera.
I have lots of older photos already on my computer, so I'll be putting up more photos soon(ish), I just have to go through and decide which ones are worth it / good enough.
And I really like coloring (in Photoshop and in real life), I just don't know if it's good enough. Good enough for what, I don't know.
So this is a really long response, but I think I've run out of things to say
