Description
This is a digital painting done in Photoshop and Painter X - most of it was done in photoshop. I used textures, different brushes, to get all the different effects, This will go into the book Fantasy Art NOW! by Ilex Press.Related content

I like the deatail of pipe is perfect, I mean, the image of a sorcerer is always the old bearded wise man smoking. I see no flaws, good job!

Gorgeous work, especially the head of the guy. His face really looks like a wise old man's face. The wrinkles in the hand are great too.
IMO there's something weird about the embers and the wisp of smoke, but I'm not sure what. The robe looks too sharp and "artificially textured" to me. Some softening would probably help with that.

...could be because it is artificially textured... i painted it all, layers and layers, then just added texture on the top to get that effect.
The smoke was meant to be magical, hence its not 'realistic' as such...

Yeah, I know it is textured like that, and I pointed out that IMO it looks too artificial because of it. But preferences and opinions differ of course.
