In every lesson, book, or tutorial that tried to explain perspective to me, I never was taught to build the perspective around the drawing. That makes so much more sense to me! I remember getting so frustrated at how bland and boring my drawings were and why I couldn't seem to fit more things of interest into my drawings. I've been going through your tutorials and even though we are still in thumbnail mode I'm pretty sure I've learned more here that I'm going to remember than in all of those other resources combined. Plus, I am actually excited to try out some of these myself instead of groaning inwardly and wondering how I'm ever going to learn this! Thank you so, so very much for these tutorials. If you ever publish a book or something with this kind of format I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Definitely going through all of this!
I also highly recommend "Vanishing Point" by Jason Cheeseman-Meyer (I couldn't make up that name)

I was looking for something like this, thanks again)
When you draw you "feel" the picture, but it's good to do it with knowledge

Thanks for the tips! Art classes didn't do much for helping my creativity, or providing variation in concepts. This however, does allow me to see the possibilities a little more clearly.

Definitely, the most important thing I learned in perspective class was that perspective is just a method to tell a story and doesn't really do any good if you don't have an intention in mind.

Some great ideas, far more interesting then how it was presented at school.

"KaBOOOM!"
Mind blown! I learned perspective in 7th grade. I think that was in 1997.
This is the first time I have EVER been presented with this knowledge.
Not even in my college studies. I am now disappointed in all my art teachers...
LOL!

Right?! I've been taking various art classes and looking up perspective tutorials online for the past 14 years, and only had 1 teacher explain it like this. I am forever grateful to that teacher. I even wrote a song praising his class. LOL

I just finished four years of art school this past May... And I have been making it my goal recently to really study things like this and create works of a better quality with more interesting compositions (as much as I love centered, symmetrical pieces and singular figure pin ups haha). And after four years of art school, I still find this SO INCREDIBLY HELPFUL! I wish I had been taught more about perspective like this.
So, thank you, for providing such a great, clear (and fun!) instructional piece. You da best! I'm looking forward to part three, and to applying these tips in future pieces.
