I love the idea, i have to try this now! What exactly is the resin...? is it a liquid that turns to a solid or stays a liquid and can it be substituted for something else, say hot glue?

Resin usually comes in a pack of two - the resin itself and then a hardener. They're both liquid, and you have to mix them equally into the amount you want. You pour it in/on whatever your focus is, and let it cure for about 24 to 48 hours, to the point where it becomes permanently hard. So, assuming you've mixed the hardener in equally, the resin will cure and can't be manipulated. I don't know if it can be substituted for something like hot glue honestly, but I suppose it could be worth a try. That being said, resin is probably a harder substance (this thing gets pretty much rock solid!) and has fewer air bubbles.

I know that's more info than you asked for, but I hope it helps.

No, sadly. It's a miniature metal bucket that I bought at Michael's. I thought about making a bucket myself, but I wanted something thin, and I felt clay was too thick.
