so I turned the sketch into a painting, I'm pretty happy with it

I especially like the thin glowing line of the halo, and the way they are positioned so that it encompasses both their heads.
Also the kid's face is just beautiful - very soft and convincingly child-like, equal measures pretty and awkward, with luminous skin and a kind of inward-looking expression.

(I'm especially happy you noticed what I did with the skin, it was a pain in the ass trying to keep background-guy dim enough for the boy to stand out, I have a tendency to go crazy with the white paint in dark areas haha)

You really pulled it off with the tones. I also love your brushstrokes - so loose and flowing, with lots of character. Nice to see you not blending everything to death - your hand makes lovely gestures, and it's good to keep them visible.
