Sherlock profileWhile I was painting it I was imagining that he is apologizing to John for making him think that he'd died (although I used a shot from Reichenbach as reference, so really he's just deducing and I tried to make him look a little more angsty lol
).I am going to stop painting Sherlock at some point (I really want to do a Doctor Who painting!), but I just love his face, and this show, so much that I can't seem to help myself!
This was done with my wacom, in cs5, in about 6 hours

This is beautiful! I can't put my finger on it because I can't tell exactly but I think his face coloring has sort of a grainy feel to it, making it seem all the more realistic...how did you do that? Or is that just regular coloring and I'm imagining things haha

And, I'm not sure exactly, what do you mean by grainy? It's probably just the brush I use - basic soft round but I vary opacity/size a lot to get the shading and blending effects I want (and my pen pressure determines opacity so that is constantly changing as I change pressure)
