I like how you detail the eyes so well. Makes them the focus of the painting.

Ok this is something that has been on my mind for a while, espeically with your recent deviations. I can not go without saying it any longer.
Your recent deviations are fun, they are nice. But do you honestly feel to yourself that they are the same quality as this work and the others which you gave more serious feeling and thought into? The paintings and collages like these, and your red black and white sketches are powerful, emotional, and make a very strong and professional impact.
Although your most recent deviations are fun, well done for their style, they feel very amature, very childlike. That could just be the subject manner and style though. I can still tell you put forth your skills in those pieces too.
I really feel you have found a unique spark with this style, it is something I have never seen the likes of before and you do it in a very masterful manner. The works like this one could easily be shown in top notch galleries. I just do not want you to overlook what you have accomplished with this series, and this style. I know playing around with other styles and more fun subject matter is good too, but it is not always best to add them to your portfolio or gallery or at least to not let it take over and down play the excellent works you do have. I am not suggesting that you delete those other works, but maybe a suggestion of placing them in your scrap book.
I am sorry that I sound so harsh, but I would rather be harsh and implore you to take your talent more seriously then to stand by and let something that I find is genius slip away. After all that is what friends are for right?

You don't sound harsh at all, and I get your point I really appreciate what you're saying.
My recent deviations are stuff that I've done in feks. a boring class or between assignements or whatever. I'm just trying out different stuff. That may be one of my problems, I love so many aspects of art, from renaissance to post modern, from gothic to chibi manga. I have many interests and sometimes I get this big urge to try out these things. But I agree, I should probably move them to my scrap section, and that is the plan, but since I'm trying out this stuff, it's nice to get some comments on them, because stuff in the scrap section is more than often overlooked(though I personally think that some of the more interesting stuff can -sometimes- be found in the scrap gallery). But I've already moved some of it, and will move some of the latest stuff to the scrap gallery as well.
About the collage paintings. I'm gonna pick up the thread where I left it, if you catch my drift. The only problem is that those kind of pictures demands much more focus than the stupid stuff I've been uploading recently, and I'm really busy with school at the moment. That's the only reason to why I haven't made more collage stuff. The collage paintings were extremely fun and challenging to do, so you can expect to see more in the future, I promise you!
Again, thank you for your comment I really appreciate it

Trying new things is perfectly fine, but you also should put in the same amount of quality for each new thing you try. Even if it is just a boring assignment, taking pride in it by giving it time and hard work always pays off in the end. Even if it is something you do not like, simply because still putting forth a quality effort will teach you ways to improve the art you already love to create.
I get your point about moving a lot of works to the scrap heap, you are right they hardly do get any comments at all. And a lot of times we really are looking for some kind of voice.
Glad to hear you are picking up on the collage works, even though they take a ton of time and concentration even after an already busy day, works of the quality are always worth it. Even though you may get exhausted, you always have pride in what you completed.
Ok, now I just gotta get to stop just giving away your art..... if you do nto want to sell them, simply ask for the amount to cover your supply costs at least. I know now you do not think they need to be sold, and probably feel better for not charging but you are really going to regret that later on down the road.

I get your point on giving all art the attention and effort it deserve, but you see, I draw almost all the time, wether I'm out smoking, on café, on pop-quiz, during a boring lecture, and in those kind of situation, my main focus needs to be on other things, but putting them in my main gallery is stupid, I've finally figured that out. I feel so awake all of a sudden.
About giving away art. Most of it are given away as birthday, christmas or moving in gifts. So, I actually save a lot of money, instead of bying something stupid, I give something personal. But I don't give away everything to like whoever ^_^
