There are many possibilities as to how this picture of a pretty ordinary (i use the term loosely) cat could be taken. Some could consider his look that of playfullness, others see it as a hunter's face.
To me, the cat's expression and colorful eyes express a resemblence to the Cheshire cat. There may not be a sly, cunning grin on his face, but you can image an expression similar to that forming deep in the confines of it's feline brain.
In a way, the differently colored eyes could be seen to express a sense of knowledge, in that he can see not just one thing at a time, but many within a single moment.
But, no matter the reaction to his expression, i'd say we can all agree that this cat is a curious little critter indeed.

I've heard it said that cats really only have one expression; it depends on the mood of the observer as to what expression they interpret in the cat's face.
I've asked three people to have a look and tell me what the cat is feeling. I've gotten lonely, curious, and playful. To me, the cat looks like a hunter on the prowl.
I hate to use words like amazing or fantastic. They can mean different things to different people. Some use the words because they don't know how to describe what they are feeling. But the thing is that this piece does make you feel something. The soft focus draws you into the eyes more than the hard focus does. The more that I try to pay attention to the foreground and background; the more I'm drawn to the eyes. Not to mention the intense detail work in the ears. The colors in the air scream out for attention that they will never get.
I'm really impressed with your work. Your photography is so moving and expressive that I was brought to tears. I look forward to your next piece.

Eyes change greatly, posture changes, I don't believe that one-only expression stuff at all. Humans just aren't generally equipped to read the moods of other species and it takes more experience to do so.

This reminds me of a cat my mom and I used to have. She was white with a green eye and a blue eye. Very pretty. I love the colors in your picture. It's vibrant but not over-the-top. You are a very talented artist.
