You're right! It's just a little north of Brainard Lake. Supposedly you can drive there, but I got there on trails from the lake.

With a capable off-road vehicle you can drive here. Its the middle St. Vrain/Coney Flats loop. Pretty rough road though.

we drove there and then walked up to the lake (parking lot right there) its a wonderful area that we plan on going back to and walk further up to the other lakes but the day we were there it started raining really hard and we chickened out and went back to the car
