Description Unfortunately, since the scanner is being a turd and not connecting to my computer, I can't scan anything FTM which indeed sucks. So, I figured, since it's been a while since I last uploaded a JG-style piece, I figured I might upload another. Thus, here is a Mexican Air Force Fiat CR.42 circa Spring 1941.

After the disastrous performance of the Mexican Army against the Californians in the Great War, the military and political leadership sought to strengthen a military that had been wracked by years of civil strife, warfare, and political backstabbing. In the 1930s, the Mexican Armed Forces underwent a series of modernizations and reforms meant to strengthen them as a unified fighting unit in the event of war with another regular military. The largest investor in this endeavor was the United States, who supplied large quantities of weapons and vehicles right up until the end of the decade though increasing foreign investment came from both Sardinia and Japan from 1936 onwards despite then-President Camacho's open support of the Republicans in the Spanish Civil War, whereas the former state was supporting the Nationalists.

By 1939, the Mexican Armed Forces was large and reasonably well-equipped, with funding provided by the Sardinians, Japanese, and Americans (whom were concerned over the two's increasing influence over Mexico) with a fair amount of vehicles locally-produced, primarily under foreign license. However, the expanding Army began to suffer logistical problems as the military infrastructure was still trying to keep up with a large and well-funded military force while the Navy was mainly using obsolescent ships purchased from various sources and was extremely undisciplined. The best-fit branch, however, was the Air Force as it was relatively well-trained (with the help of foreign instructors from the US, Sardinia, Brazil, and Argentina) and morale was extremely high. In May 1941, when newly-elected President Juan Almazan declared war on the Republic of Texas, under promises from Sardinia and Japan that with their support Mexico would be able to regain the lands lost in the 1870s, the Fuerza Aerea Mexicana would prove to have the best success in its coming battles with the various Allied forces.
