I agree totally with OwletBirb, Mapleshade and her kits were cruely treated by both clans. No wonder she went insane after her kits died, I can't really blame her for killing those guilty for her suffering. The worst part is that Mapleshade was a good warrior before she fell for Appledusk the cheater. If only one clan had shown some mercy so much suffering could have been prevented, all the way to Crookedstar and Tigerstar.

Thunder Clan to me broke the code when they made Mapleshade leave.  Then they wonder why a bunch of bad stuff happened.  Here is code 12: "No Warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from another Clan."

Making her leave with her kits clearly put them in harm's way.
