My newly completed personal character costume head. She is a hybrid of around two dozen animals, but is primarily feline.She has taxidermy-style eyes and custom cast plastic teeth and latex nose. Her mane is custom-ordered 8-12 inch fur in 2 shades or purple with blue fibers intermixed. The markings are airbrushed with waterproof black india ink.
This head is unique in that with most of my fursuit heads the wearer looks out via mesh located near the eyes. This head, however, is designed to be viewed through the mouth. I did that in order to lengthen her neck so it looks suitably feral when added to a full padded bodysuit (which is being worked on now).
The mouth moves with the wearer's mouth. It is not sensitive enough to 'speak' (which looks silly anyways considering she has no lips to form sounds) but she can roar and gnash her formidable teeth at children with the best of them.
I took this photo using a combination of a halogen work light and a cool daylight florescent

This is awesome. Compared to the older head, this is really detailed and realistic. I love the idea of lengthening the neck.
Did you use a different fur around the muzzle area, or is it just shaved down? It looks really fuzzy, woolen, almost.

Indeed! It's a special stretch fur. It has an almost curly texture since it is made from wig fibers woven around a stretch backing.

This is very beautifully done, I love all the extra details you add to your work. As was said before, your photography is also amazing; I honestly thought that this was a portrait when I saw the preview image.
