I love the way his upper lip is still in focus while, the lower is mid-range and the chin is totally off! I also like the way his shirt looks - all out of focus... oh the the glazed eyes, just great.
is the focal-range set on the nose?

great lighting... good tones. one thing that bothers me is the the top part; too bad you cropped the hair out, perhaps if zoomed out just a little you would've got it just right.

that being said, great portrait. highly emotional.
