Thanks! My camera is nothing much special - it's a Canon PowerShot IS3 with default lenses, using the built-in panorama program to help aligning the shots, usually 13 in total for full 360 degrees capture. The Canon panorama shooting mode allows you to see a semi-transparent view of the last shot, so you can align the next one and decide how much overlapping to leave between shots. The first couple of panoramas used an ancient Sony Mavica FD-73, which comes with a built-in 3.5" floppy disk drive. LOL
The Canon panorama helper is really useful when trying to keep a constant overlap between shoots, which will later make it easier to match perspective distortions because they are more or less the same for all shots. It also automatically disables auto-color saturation correction to avoid exposure discrepancies between shots caused by light source position. ^^
