Reference Image: [link]I really enjoyed doing this and playing around with the colours.
The hair was the best part to vexel and required the most time. I added the 'curly wurlies' at the top of her hair to make it more fun!
I came up with a few funky BG but i felt a simpler one suited better.
This took up to 3 weeks (on and off) to finish and about 300 layers on Photoshop CS4

Thank you, i am so glad you spotted that, because it is pop art inspired. when vexeling the image, Madonna's pose reminded me so much of the poses in the Roy Lichtenstein paintings. I actually added a speech bubble to this piece and tried imitating the ben-day dots technique but i didnt like the outcome too much so i didn't post it.

you said you had over 300 layers, how do you do the layers? do you have multiple layers for each item, such as her bangle (like a black layer, and a white layer). I sometimes cant figure out which way is the best for a great outcome.

how many layers i use for each part depends on how many colours. for eg for the bangle, i used a new layer for each colour i used, sometimes two, so that i could easily erase or delete a layer if i am not happy with the outcome. so yes i work on multiple layers.

I can't get over her jewelry!
Only thing that bugs me is to us her right hand?
The hair makes it looks like tiny not proportional fingers...
But besides that, this is SO worth a DD!
