Description
On Meredith's last night at Smoky Ridge, she whispered and patted her goodbyes to every horse at the stable. Some lifted their kind heads and nickered their farewell, while others quietly ate their hay with only the dim twilight to see. After her goodbye, she set one last , long look on the familiar barn and walked away.

The morning was bright and content when Meredith first set her eyes on Chesire Farms. The sun outlined everything it could find with gold, from the tips of the hair on the horses’ coats to every leaf on the trees that grew around the stable. Her heart swelled with excitement as she took it all in, and wondered where the mustang she had seen in the pictures sent to Smoky Ridge months ago could be. After meeting the owners and other staff of Chesire Farms, she settled into the dorms and changed into something more horse-suitable than the dressier clothes she wore for the plane ride over.
Not soon enough, Meredith was shown her mare in the pasture with the rest of the horses. Though they were all gorgeous and eye-catching, it took her no more than a moment for her to find hers. There was hardly a way she could have known her horse’s personality by the pictures, so she studied her movements. The roan mare was calm and settled into the herd nicely, but Meredith could tell she was not a horse to be pushed around. When a near mare would try to nip at her or shove her over, she would swiftly show them she was no weakling. Hopefully that would work out for the best under saddle, Meredith thought.
At last, it was time for the first join up with her mare. She didn’t know quite what to wear, and didn’t want to get anything decent dirty, so she slipped on her favorite Smoky Ridge t-shirt and a pair of scuffed up jeans. Soon after, she stood tall in the round pen with her brave face and intelligent eyes staring towards the other horses in the pasture beyond the pen. She was not terribly impatient but she was not going to be kept waiting all day in the small corral. Meredith didn’t have a problem keep her eyes on the mare to send her away. The mare swept into a proud canter with her dark wing of a mane flying back.
It as tough for Meredith to get the mare to accept her as an equal, but her efforts eventually payed off and the mare started to lower her head slowly, though she let her know that no matter how much trust she had in her, she could never be totally taken from her wild spirit. A pink tongue slipped out of the roan’s dark muzzle and an ear swiveled to listen to Meredith’s voice. The mare began to walk towards the center of the round pen with her proud head lowered. When Meredith walked away, steady footfalls sounded in the dirt behind her. A muzzle nudged her shoulder and she turned, gently patting the mustang’s face. Clever eyes peered back from the long tendrils of forelock. Meredith slipped the worn green halter over the bridge of the horse’s nose and slid it over her head, buckling it as quietly and efficiently as she could. She smiled and rested her hand on the mare’s brave face, wondering what thoughts stirred in the mustang’s mind.

I drew a human! I drew an actual not-completely-funky person! And she somewhat looks like Meredith! It's a miracle. AND WITH NO REFERENCE. I'm shocked at myself.
I really do not like the horse's pose, it doesn't fit Takoda's personality at all, but it works. x.x
But all in all, I'm really proud of this picture.

Personality: Brave is a good word to describe Takoda. She is easygoing and generally friendly, but is not one that will be taken advantage of. Her wild spirit stays with her always, and she is very clever and level-headed. She hates to be stuck in a stall, and doesn't care what the weather is as long as she can stretch her legs.
History: Takoda was born and raised up until the age of five in the desert of Nevada. Because of her experience as a mustang, she is smart and has a good sense of danger and instincts. Along with a several others, she was captured and put into the United Mustang Foundation at Chesire Farms.
