Encounters between the Fae and the Eldritch are exceptionally rare, but in the few events where contact was made, disaster strikes.

The Nuckelavee is the results of one such encounter, and is a monument displaying why it os the Fae avoid Eldritch entities at all costs. The Fae that would become the Nuckelavee is believed to be two separate entities forcibly merged into a singular gestalt being. According to the Gentry who spoke of the Nuckelavee, said entities had their True Names corrupted and destroyed via an encounter with a hostile Eldritch entity. This resulted in the two separate beings fusing together into an abominable beast. An event that by all accounts should be impossible.

Currently, the Nuckelavee's territory is confined to the North Sea, with occasional attacks along the coast, though most sightings of the Nuckelavee have been in and around the Orkney Islands. The Nuckelavee mostly attacks lone wanderers and vehicles within 5-15 kilometers away from the coast, avoiding large settlements in favor of easy prey.

The Nuckelavee attacks others in a futile attempt to steal the True Name of it's victims in an attempt to purify whatever force it is that has corrupted it, which is always doomed to failure as not only is stealing True Names impossible, but any names the Nuckelavee does aquire eventually erode away to nothing. This makes the Nuckelavee a tortured creature who has been rendered insane even by Fae standards. The centuries of its existence has made it a sadistic monster, and makes it the faerie equivalent of a serial killer, fitting the definition perfectly as the murders committed by the Nuckelavee take place over the course of a month and including a significant period of time between periods of activity. The Nuckelavee kills, on average 20-30 people a year, with occasional outliers. Victims are usually lone families with a select target. Non-targets are eviscerated until only the chosen target remains, who upon being captured is dragged into the North Sea and ritualistically drowned and over the course of several hours, upon killing this victim, the Nuckelavee will either seek after another, or enter a cooling-off period lasting no less than a month and no more than 3 months before going after its next victims.

Powers, Skills, and Abilities

Pestilence Breath: The Equine head of the Nuckelavee possesses the ability to exhale an exotic substances from it's mouth. This substance is luminescent, green in color, gaseous, and universally toxic to all known life. Plant life coming into contact with this substance wilts and dies at an accelerated rate. Microorganisms, insects, fungi, and small animals die near instantly upon contact. Larger animals will die over a period of seconds to hours depending on exposure, with inhalation being fatal. In addition this substance is highly corrosive against a variety of materials, and is capable of eroding or melting through rubbers, plastics, glass, metals, and ceramics in sufficient amounts. This substance is not composed of matter nor mana. It is seemingly not even composed of any identifiable particles, with even electron microscopes showing the substance to be gaseous at even a subatomic state. According to mages who interact with the Fae, this substance is the Idea of Poison given form, as opposed to an actual toxin.

Limited Teleportation - The Nuckelavee is capable of manifesting anywhere within its territory at any given moment reguardless of distance, however upon doing so it will not teleport again until it either completes its sadistic goals or it is interrupted. Even while a victim is running away from the Nuckelavee, it will instead choose to pursue its target on foot. The only known limitation to this ability is that while the Nuckelavee can appear anywhere within the North Sea and along the coasts, it cannot appear across fresh running water nor can it cross running water. However the Nuckalavee is aware of this limitation and usually chooses targets far away from any fresh water sources, this includes suddenly appearing on ships and boats traveling the North Sea, locations that are impossible for escape.

Claws - the Humanoid portion of the Nuckalavee possesses sharp bone-like claws capable of tearing through all but the strongest materials. These claws have cleaved through the metal shells of cars to get to the passengers inside, and can easily slice through bone. These claws can also extend for increase reach.

Speed - The Nuckalavee is capable of running at a top speed of 80 KPH. However most of the time the Nuckalavee runs at much lower speeds when pursuing prey that is on foot, interspersed with a few short bursts (lasting only seconds) when they attain peak speeds. Average behavior of the Nuckalavee is to chase its prey, keeping an even pace before suddenly picking up speed to run past its prey on foot and quickly turn around before stopping, and resuming the chase once the chosen target runs in another direction. This sadistic game only lasts until the target is rendered exhausted, upon which the Nuckalavee will abduct them and either run towards the sea, or teleport. However, if the Nuckalavee believes that it's chosen prey will cross running water, it will cease this pattern of behavior and attempt to catch the victim at all costs.

Nameless- The event that corrupted the Nuckalavee has rendered it nameless. This makes him immune to the more invasive manipulations of the Fae and grants it immunity to the iron weakness of other Fae.
