Description Spider-man 2099. i'm calling this one done. there's some webbing that's supposed to go on his back, but i think i'm gonna skip it.

the biggest challenge on this one was balance. this was my first experiment with tin foil as a filler. i used it for a good deal of the torso & thighs and left the arms, head and neck solid to make it hang right.

sculpey & picture wire.

this one is super sculpey. i've got a classic red and blue spidey in the works, but he's not hanging like this one. i'm hoping to have it finished in the next week or so, and then i'll post some pics.

i majored in art in college, but no sculpture. i've really just been teaching myself. study anatomy and life drawing. it helps a lot in being able to visualize the figure from the inside out.

Aw, I wish I could see this more clearly, John. Your camera is adding a lot of extra noise! It looks amazing nonetheless!

the camera's got all these buttons and wheels and clicks and beeps and i haven't quite figured out what it all means.

thanks!

How many megapixels? And what sort of system do you have to hang the sculpture? Like, how is it attached to the ceiling? Or IS it?

And did you ever hang up your skateboard?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

beastgrinder In reply to des-igner [2009-02-14 21:53:31 +0000 UTC]

it's a fuji finepix s8100.

the sculpture hangs with picture wire, so i was thinking some kind of eye bolt or hook screw, just something to keep it out from the wall a bit.
