Yes I can see what you eman with the curvature of the spine making the pose look difficult, hes not exactly a werewolf but I must agree for that :3
Thankyou so much for the critique using the new feature! This is my first ever.

Vision
The vision component is one of the main aspects of this picture. The depicted anthro wolf is dark, but even so, it's perfectly shaded and with smooth colouring. Right after looking upon the character, whose striking pose and dark red marked eyes get the first look, the viewers look is centered on the background. At the beginning, the soft cloud effects and the moon are the parts that get noticed. You then start noticing the evenly coloured sort of hill where the character is standing. The shading on the rocks and the grass is very well accomplished, and the tree is also recognizable, even though it could use a sharper shading, given the rest of the picture.
Originality
This is the second part of the picture that gets the most out of it. Usually anthro characters are placed in situations where a humanized mind would need to be a necessity. Such situations of interaction with other characters or clothing and objects usually make forget the animal part of an anthro subject. This picture proves otherwise, by depicting an anthro character on what appears to be a perfectly natural environment for it, with no apparent reason for cognition. Not all people will understand the underlying meaning of such a picture, but it is there.
Technique
Even though this picture is very consistent in both style and technique, having a very good and evenly distributed shading on both the character and background, while still emphasizing it's digital nature, I have a feeling that these kinds of pictures could have more emphasis on the realism factor. The anatomy of the character is flawless, evidencing every edge and curve, as well as demonstrating both animal and humanoid traits, as it would be expected of an anthro character. The best out of it is certainly the head, neck and torso, but the hands and legs are also worthy of a mention.
On the other hand, the first plane of the background feels vague, and doesn't quite match the level of detail present in the character. It's particularly evident on the tree against the character's hand. Like it was said before, the tree could use a sharper shading, and while this style works perfectly for the sky, it must be perfected for the rest of the background. There is much room for improvement with this style!
Impact
Like it was said before, the impact of this picture is biased, as a result of it's nature. While some people will look at it from an objective point of view, only seeing a regular anthro character, others might feel the meaning inherent to this picture, the so called "spiritual bond" that is triggered by the nature of it. The way I see it, to describe this picture in a few words, it is representative of freedom. Further description would be hard and subjective, and as such, should be left at the viewer's discretion.
Overall, this picture steps into a less explored part of the anthro art style, and has immense value for doing so. This style has much room for improvement, which can only be seen on the technical point of view. The feelings transmitted are there, and as such, this picture succeeds at the very definition of art. It will not meet everyone's criteria of 'awesome', but it will be largely appreciated by a few!

oooh yours is the first critique iv ever recieved! Using the new feature that is heheh. Thankyou so much for taking the time to do so.
I must say as for the background and coloring effort I did consciously limit myself because it was a commission and I only wanted to do as much as i'd been paid for. Maybe a little more if the commissioner is lucky.
Heheh I will do my best to further this technique and make the foreground environment more hard edged in my personal pieces! Thanks :3 <3

Well, I didn't take any of the aspects of being a commission into account. Truth be told, when I'm going to write a critique, I don't read the artists comments, so the critique comes out as a result of only what can be seen from the picture.
I understand the part about effort perfectly ^^

HA! I favorited before commenting, but I thought I'd be nice and comment anyway. Your art piece is wonderfully done, and the pose is well drawn. I'm a troubled artist, and poses are my greatest enemies. (Along with hands, feet, and bodily structure except for a headbust.)
What interests me the most, is the mane of your wolf. It's so.. blue. I like blue. xD
