A little gift design for - A moonstone based Dorodango. <3
My first go at designing one for someone else and basing the design on a specific stone! I hope you will love it! ;u;

Dorodangos always have a round stone on their tail. This polished mud ball is something each Dorodango crafts over it's lifetime. In fact it is their namesake, as the term dorodango refers to the Japanese art form of polishing a round ball of mud by hand until it shines like pottery.

The chemical make up of a Dorodango's saliva, combined with the mud and colorful minerals, creates a ball that is hard as stone with a glossy, glass-like finish. The stones are so dense, that they can make a metal sound when hit against something solid. A Dorodango will use this sound as a warning to unwelcome trespassers into their territory. Many young and silly Dorodangos simply use the sound to make music.

Dorodangos can make a stone on any part of their body that they can reach and that doesn't impede their movement. For example the one above would have spent months or even years to cover their natural horn with a stone cover. The one on the chest could be removed as it is only held on by hair.
