FULL VIEW PLEASE -- it shows paper grain and much more detail than the thumb.I was just itching to draw something, so I gave another shot at pastels. I have a set of Nupastel by Prismacolour, they're pretty vibrant and layer pretty decently. Some parts ( mostly the white ) got a little washed out and lost some texture but, I really like the parts where the grey shows through more.

Mmm... It's refreshing to see in a club (:iconcarnivorecreations:) where all I see--at the moment--are blood-thirsty animals slashing at their prey. I like its simplicity, pose-wise.

Pastels are the devil. But you use them so beautifully. I'm really loving all of the colours that you've managed to integrate into the shading and lighting. When I try that, I typically end up with a muddy mess.

Thanks! Though, I must say -- it isn't an Akita Inu. xD It's right in the title that it is a Shiba Inu.

I like your use of colors to give the impression of white rather than just coloring them all white and shading with grey or something. They vibrant blue, purples, and reds really make the picture pop.

I think its more fun to use the grain of the paper instead of filling it all in and then adding other colours. It kind of gives it more diversity and character to the drawing.
