The Grim Reaper of Viva Pinata, Dastardos. Personally, I think he's actually got a pretty cool design, so I desided to give a try drawing him.

One of these days, I gotta draw Professor Pester the way I see him... 4Kids kind of doesn't know what relivance he REALLY has to the plot.

I know. Like,seriously,Viva Pinata is turning into another Kirby!Right Back at Ya. I mean,I love Kirby,but another one? No. We need an actual bad guy that actually threatens the pinatas,not just there for comedic relief.

Well, the way I saw it, it all got messed up with the My Sweet Sours episode where they tried creating a background for Pester when he already HAS one... Assuming you haven't seen that episode, it has Pester reminessing about how he created the sours. He has a flashback where he has hair and is a college student studying evil and trying to take all the candy... >_<... Also seems there were 5 ruffians to begin with, and one of them died in the pot of green liquid where Pester was making the sours in... As a result, the sours are out of his control and he deems them worthless...
Problems:
1) Pester started out as a NICE GUY- his problem was wanting to take short cuts. In a sense, Pester is the Viva Pinata equivilant of Factory Farming whereas Jardenaro is traditional family farming. The sours are a byproduct of animal testing, and Pesters reasoning for killing your valuable pinatas is revenge from being fired.
2) It was a RED liquid that created the sours... Not a green one. Nit picky, but true.
3) Some kids LIKE sour candy... Why would sour candy-producing pinatas make people stop ordering them?
4) Pester says the sours where a bad idea while watching a video feed of a sour Mallowolf biting Hudsons legs off... Shouldn't that particular thing be seen as a success? I'd consider anything that causes pain to Hudson to be a boon to evil... and maybe even GOOD.
5) If Pester REALLY just wanted candy, wouldn't it be easier to... say... take over a candy factory? Why bother a bunch of animals that just happen to have the stuff as guts.
6) If Pinatas like being broken open(Both on the show and the game.), why is Pester so evil? I mean, that IS all he's doing in the 4Kids version...
7) Well, I have no way of proving this, but I don't think the sour cauldren is where the sours came from... I think that if you feed/inject the sour potion to a normal pinata, it goes sour- kind of like a desease that causes suffering but not death. In that sense, any pinata (and some humans.) can be turned sour, but when your pinched for revenge time you have to go with what you can grab, hence there being only 8 sour species.
Lol... Sorry for ranting this little bit at you, but while the 4Kids version isn't a total waste to my eyes(I like some of the characters.) I just needed to get that out. And I got some issues about Kirby Right Back At Ya too, but I'll save that for if I ever do another Kirby pic.

Well, he IS the grim reaper of pinatas... 4Kids didn't really talk about death, what with their replacing all mention of it in any and all anime dubs. So I sort of came to expect it, much as I'd rather have the humans there, Dastardos included.

Well, for what it was, it was actually one of the better 4Kids shows. I think it was mostly cause they were doing the animation themselves and not bastardizing some anime they thought should be easy to market for kids. I just don't get why Pester was the only human used(well given that he was the villain they couldn't do without him, but still, would have been good if they had some people shown.) and they actually had tons of genuinely funny jokes.
I also kind of wish they explored less of Fergy's cowardly nature(yeah, we get it, the dude doesn't want to get hurt hence not wanting to go to parties) and more of his obsessive nature- the guy did have a talent for being a neat freak, and it sort of connected him more to the basic thing of VP: gardening. Would have been good to see some background on the characters too: Like we know Fergy's thing against going to parties is cause he's scared, but what's Paulie got against them- beyond just being someone Fergy could hide with? Β He doesn't seem scared so much as he just doesn't want to go. Langstone never has to go to parties- could that mean behind his party-obsessed facade, he's afraid too? Β Why can't Franklin lie? Β There was a ton that could have been explored with what they set up.
If you ever change your mind, two of the best episodes I'd recommend are High Plains Drafter, which is hilarious cause of unflattering sketches basically replacing bullets, but having the same visual effect, and To Catch A Pinata which is one of the best episodes that shows Fergy's obsessive nature.

Eh, I've met people who ranted at both 4Kids, and the people that make up their indevidual dubs. Unorganised rants by single people don't work against companies when they actually have people still throwing money at them. In order to make any progress at all, we'd need to enlighten the money throwers, AND make ourselves known on a group scale. Fortunatly, that happened with One Piece, and there are signs it's happening with Sonic.
As for my part, I've actually joined a Viva Pinata message board, and in one of the sections (Write your own VP episode) I've actually written out plots of Viva Pinata episodes that I think might kick ass(My favorite had a gang of mafia salamangos moving into the garden. Led by Tony Salamango, since then a fan character of mine, they start running a typical mafia ring and all those that go against them get their property wrecked as a warning, and then "Dissappear" if they keep at it. Langston tries getting them to behave, but they scare him by threatening to break him open at the dump and feed his candy to the tafflies. Then Paulie dissappears and Fergy realises the only way that they can save everyone is if he and Langston work together- Fergy using his talants to act as a spy, and Langston using his access to Pinata Central's technology to... do... technology stuff... It still needs work.). Unfortunatly, I'm still new there and nobody much seems to notice me. I'm not causing big waves there, and they even ignored me when I tried RPing.

It's called Pinataisland.info, and the main time I was noticed was when I mentioned that the starfish in one episodes didn't look like pinatas, but if they included them they might make a food source. Someone acted shocked that I suggested that pinatas eat living things, but I responded that pinatas eat PLANTS, and FRUIT, and eachother, and all that's alive. If you ever go there, I'm Sherbattybuddy, and I got tons of fan characters, fan pinata species ([link] ) and story ideas(I hope to write out my Salamango story as well as a story I had called "The Sour Morning Sun", where the sours make a newspaper to rival the "Pinata yada yada".).
See, My thing with the TV show is that I like all the characters(Cept Hudson, but a part of me STILL likes him... I just like him to hate him.), but I don't think they do the plots well enough, and they leave out the human characters from the game cept Pester and the ruffians(Do the ruffians count as human?). Leafos is unexplicably in the intro if your quick and have sharp eyes, but that's about it. Also, I think it's kind of disturbing how they feature them eating large piles of candy all the time(as that's technically Pinata guts) pretty much leave out the entire food chain thing(Fergy should have eaten that one whirlm who wanted to go to a party, or at the least they all should have feared him.) and have toned things down by having Pester "Capture them" rather then do what he REALLY does- smash them to pieces. When I like characters, but don't like the stories they're in, or think that they could stand to be put in a situation, I write fanfics.

I only like the ones with the most interesting personalities. I don't like most of the pinatas(except for Teddington and Tina) but since the humans are rarely shown, I have a huge soft spot for all of them(Minus Leafos.D: )I was really dissapointed with the Pester-flashback episode,me and my friend were POSITIVE Dastardos would be in it. And I believe the Ruffians count as humans. I did see Leafos in the intro,when I first starting watching Viva Pinata after I had started the game, I pointed out to whoever was in the room with me that that was Leafos. Fanfics..I have trouble with them. I can't write a fanfic that has two or more chapters. D:

Well, her back story reminds me of myself;
1) The pictures she drew up ended up making up the journal.
2) She snuck random pinatas in her room to study them and play with them(I want a pet Salamango... T_T.).
3) She ponders a lot of questions, but doesn't have the perserverance to really act on them, hense she's not as good an actual hands-on guardener as Stardos. I have no doubt that she could figure on more of the mysteries of their world then he could.
4) She can be a real problem when she gets angry(I've gotten better, but I still have anger issues.).
5) On the same note, she forgives and forgets rather quickly(Sometimes it may not seem that quick, but it's as quick as me.)
6) She wears earth tones and has brown hair (Small details, but they are similarities.)
In the long run, she's never seemed like she's trying to make you fail, as you say, she's just got a lot of thoughts and not a lot of skills. Storkos is my favorite too, but I just like those two best.
