When adapting others' OCs, sometimes there's a learning curve. The main lessons surrounding Ruby and Sapphire of sctv45 were of shading. When dealing with the two physically identical pale-skinned sisters (not the Oliynyks ), it was more important for their attire and hair to pop. I really came to appreciate the unifying property of shading applied over that many disparate clothing articles, textures, and patterns.
