Description
Inuyasha in modern Tokyoinspired by the Sakura Seriou Douninshis.
In the Sakura S Douninshi, Inu is sometimes shown modern clothes, and sometimes in a wilder Harajuku style. This is my attempt at one of the outfits. You like?
I think I may have to make more.

The leather pants is what got me (they are leather pants right?). I really admire anyone who can work 3d programs... I'm learning at the moment, but it's not my thing... I wish 2d was still the fad D:

Sakura Seriou has a neat style, and what is different about her as far the genre she does, is I think her love for the characters comes through. There is gentleness and sentiment which you don't usually see in these types of doujinshis. ^^

Thanks! I tend to make Inu and gang 20-somethings. It doesn't seem right to do them younger when doing 3D.
I also do Inu at a larger-than-life size for a Japanese male. He's about 6'3" at roughly a lean-and-toned 175 pounds.
Sesshoumaru is even taller! I haven't measured him, but I think he comes in at 6'5" and thinner but more muscluar than Inu, so maybe 170-175 pounds (without the armour and fluff!)?

6'3" and 6'5", you've put them at the same height as my brother and cousin. that's pretty darn tall! it would be pretty terrifying to run into someone of that stature with the sharp claws for nails. though i think i'd drool and shake in fear and the same time. he looks so cute sitter there.

Mmmmmh ... very nice! I especially like this pretty, pouty mouth. I have some difficulties in trying to assess his pose, though - sitting cross-legged and having his arm draped across his tummy looks very relaxed, but the raised arm looks like a gesture of surprise or exasperation.
Maybe surprise? Someone caught him in the wrong moment? But then again, his face doesn't look as if he feels guilty or shocked.
Then again -- should I really care about his arm when he's sitting there in goddamned shiny leather pants, should I?! (well, that was a rhetorical question - of course I shouldn't!)
By the way, I never thought about Inu's toenails. If he is equipped with dog's claws it makes sense that he should have them at his feet as well. On the other hand, Takahashi-sensei always drew him with normal feet and human toenails as far as I can remember. Where did you get the idea?

Uh-oh, busted! Yeah, the pose is a little off. I was trying to combine elements of self consciouness, comfort, discomfort, cuteness and sessiness. Results are a little disjointed. There are so many elements that go into render, bringing them all together in a timely manner sometimes doesn't happen for me. This picture took roughly a day and half to put together.
Anyhoo, I imagined a situation something like:
Inu in clothes Kagome made him wear because she wants to take him out in public. He's feeling self conscious, but kinda liking it (even though he won;t admit it). He's adjust the hat over his ears, and Kagome walks in. "How's this?" he asks, hoping for her approval. "Great," Kagome says, "but, uh... there's a problem." "What problem?" he asks. Kagome points to his feet with the claws showing. "Where are the shoes?" Inu pouts, "They were uncomfortable. I shredded them. "
Heeh heeh.
I don't think the manga ever shows Inu with toeclaws, but in the anime they sometimes do.
I thought, with so much of Inu's inu-ness covered, it would be good to show not all of his strangeness is covered. I may try to do this image again, but as a funny.

Now that you explain it, I can't figure out how I came to my conclusion that he looks self-conscious. Adjusting his hat --- yeah, that makes sense. Sometimes I just interpret too damn much into anything :sweatdrop:.
Since I only vaguely remember the anime
-- (Anime - as a rule - is considered to be exclusively a kids' programme; as of late, 'Inuyasha' is on air at noon when normal, adult, working people can't watch it. Germans are a weird bunch.) --,
I can't say anything about Inu's toenails. But I do remember having had issues with Inu's figure. In the manga he is always pictured as a scrawny teen, his body is boyish and his face and facial expressions still very childlike. In the anime, however, he seems to be a bit on the sturdy side and has a considerably older-looking face. So yes, I suppose we should take into consideration the reference.
By the way, while cleaning up my apartment I found an old Halloween-themed sketch of mine, showing Inu in a leather outfit (you know, complete with leather straps and buckles on bare skin ^_^) with a mask. Funny how he seems to bring out the animalistic side in many people ...
Once again, a very good picture --- kudos! By all means, do a funny version; I'm looking forward to that!

Now knowing the insight behind the image, I think you pulled it together just right. *snicker* He would hate the shoes and shred them *pets shiny pants* I bet Kagome would have a hard time resisting him in that outfit. *looks at own current artwork...and kicks it* You're on a level I can just (barely) aspire to maybe come close to...if I really really try hard.
